Today's KDD: Appreciating Those who Teach,Coworker's attempting to Reach,and my love of the Beach

It is almost 10, on the Sevenh of May,

Hope your all having a good day?

Yesterday, was Teacher's Appreciation day,

And on the Radio, The group, Toto does play

I recall, a few Teacher's stood out, Mrs. Mc Keon, she really believed in
me,

And by Junior High , a Teacher I wanted to be,

Really, a Doctor, would have liked to have gone to Medical School, yet,
poor in Science and Math,

So, I took another path,

I lost my sight and took another avenue,

Other things I had intended to do,

A Psychologist, I then I was hoping to be,

Yet, look, I work in Hospitality. lol

Mrs. Was my Teacher in the 5 Th Grade,

Such an impression, she made,

She had high expectations of me, even though I was visually impaired,

She was tough, but she really cared.

Hope you all had a great teacher?, Mentor?, a Church Leader? an excellent
role Model? for you?

Assisted you in obtaining your goals and taught you values too?

I can not believe, Darrell and I were going to move, to the Wine state,

It would have been stressful, time; it would take to acclimate,

Ourselves, to our new environment, with no Family and friends there,

Would have said, so, long, good bye, take good care,

Keep in touch!,

We both would have sacrificed much.

However, we would have picked up and have gone, For Darrell; this would have
been a wonderful Opportunity,

Utilized his skills and improved accessibility,

Yet, as you know now, he wasn't offered the position,

He will find other ways, to continue his mission.

We will be staying here, will not be leaving our close friends and a town
we know,

California, we will not go.

Except, to San Diego, to go to the beach,

My close friend Ruthie there, I will attempt to reach,

Late last night, was thinking of our vacations in Maine, Kennebunkport,

Life is quite stressful at our Resort.

I was recalling, the good times at Goose Rocks beach, and the vacations as a family
we took,

And maybe, today, soon, I wil begin a new book?

Fun times were had by all,

Spent mostly summer's there, a week or two, yet, occasionally, would go in
the fall,

Loved it, despite the water being cold,

And it has become quite Touristy, from what I am told

This is where, I had learned to swim, enjoy fresh seafood and love the
ocean, the sea,

One of my favorite places to be.

Work is quite crazy, much activity, one has to act fast,

And as we all know, Nice Guys finish last,

Here, I am, will be staying in the Valley of the sun,

And due to some issues with co-workers and, work not getting done,

In a timely manner, throughout the day

And it, not being okay,

My Boss's approach I took, more aggressive I was,

I did not get positive results, yet, she does,

Why is this? Because, she is the Boss? Department Head? That, is not right,

Yet, hopefully, we will have a meeting this Sunday night.

I don't want to have issues, like I had 6 months ago,

You know?

I am trying to improve the situation,

And will be glad, when Renovation,

Will be complete, yet several months more,

And should do some Housework today, a few chores.

I also would like others to listen to me, when I give them a request, a
task,

To pay attention, follow-through, is that, too much to ask?

I think not!

And now, it is beginning to get hot.

Last night, I was quite frustrated and needed some inspiration, my attitude
I wanted to adjust,

If you're going to be Happy, one must,

So, I went to the nethugs message web site,

I felt better, alright?,

But, became a real sentimental fool,

And hoping, we can go swimming soon,, in our pool?

I am not sure why I get like this?

I just want to find happiness,

And have a sense of belonging, inspirational messages I find,

Things like that and Humor, to inspire to make me feel better, to help me
unwind,

So, this kind of stuff I seek,

Well, it is now, 11, and an hour I have sat here and write,

I better, go; get some things done, alright?

Today's KDD: Two Months of Stress,Several Interviews and one Flight Later

It isCinco De Mayo ,at 9;09,

Hope your well, doing fine?

That all is alright?

I know nothing, in a while I have posted to my site,

It was a difficult two months to get through,

Writing, I am here to renew.

I know, few KDD's I wrote for the Month of April, only 8,

TheTwenty-first , was the last Date,

My apologies, for being away,

Will try to make it up to you all here today,

For those, who check my blog out regularly and not a single one there

However, until, much of what was happening, I couldn't share,

Couldn't be revealed, exposed

For, I had trouble to compose,

Darrell and I were stressing,

So, with e-mail did not want to be messing

Nor, my creative juices did not flow,

When under stress, you know?,

That is when, many may choose to write, use this as an outlet,

Not me. Was not as much on the net,

Or writing much at all,

Yet, the highlights, I am still able to recall.

Some may say they find that hard to believe?,

When, mail in their box, they would receive,

Yet, those people knew, what was happening, frequently we would speak,

So, knew, went on from day to day, week to week,

Much, I did not have to say

If, I wasn't okay

And not in the mood to chat,

They understood why, knew, where I was at.

I took a break from composing this to do research for some friends of
ours,

That is why, this will be taking hours,

For me to finish and post to my site,

Yet, it will be sent to my blog by the end of tonight.

There isn't much I can say about work, there renovating,

For the last 5 weeks, much noise, they are making,

Using jackhammers and other tools,

I hope guests are out shopping? sitting out by the pools?

Getting away?

I know for me, it was difficult to get through the day,

Each day, I would come home with a headache

On my days off, I would get a break,

One of the Managers transferred to another Property, to Buffalo,

Until about a month ago that she would do,I did not know,

Then, another manager, was on Maternity leave, back to work, but in security
instead,

From what my Boss had said,

This way she can be at home with the baby at night, so with a caregiver, the
baby will not be left,

Because her Husband works Evening's, he is a Chef.

The Guest Room Renovation will be complete in October, about 5 months from
now,

How do you deal?,Tell me how?

I am so tired, of the noise, of the Renovation,

Of work in general, in need of a vacation.

Early in the Year, Darrell had applied for a job as the Volunteer
Coordinator

He wasn't applying to be a waiter

Or at a School to teach,

Though, there at times, he would love to just bum around on the beach. Lol

The Company is called Benetech, Located near the San Francisco Bay,

And I am only ready to tell you about this today

As stated, Darrell applied for the position,

To continue his mission,

For improving accessibility for all, as he he has often said,

After 6 weeks, he was contacted,

And for 7 weeks, he went through several interviews,

Before we had any news,

He had about 10 telephone interviews, and then invited to the Benetech
office, in person,

On April 16 Th, this was done,

He flew to Palo Alto, though, it was intense, and he had fun,

He had an Opportunity too meet many at Bookshare,

This project, he truly did care,

And still does, Electronic books he does validate

Thinks the service is great,

Quite worthwhile,

Loves the style,

These are printed books that would allow those of us with printed
disabilities to have access to,

Coordinating the Volunteers and the project, Darrell was hoping to do,

And so much more, he was quite qualified,

And improving the project, he would have tried,

He would have done his best,

We, would have moved Further West

Many skills, he does possess,

Many Technical ones , yet also this is his passion, to enable

Lays out all the cards on the table,

To assist and give us all more access to information, so we can contribute
to Society,

More independent, we all will be.

We waited, day after day, week ,after week, no reply, no call, not sure
why?

We finally had an answer, two weeks, after, out there, he did fly,

It was on May Second, just the other day,

Darrell, couldn't believe, what the director of Bookshare, did say,

Darrell did not get the job, a sighted woman did instead for her, this is
probably,just a job,not a career,

So, we are staying here,

We were very upset, when we got the news, were depressed,

What seemed like an unanswered prayer, is a blessing in disguise, you
know?

Now, moving to California, we don't have to go.

However, we are still a bit bummed, this wouldn't just have been a job for
him, rather, a Career,

The bookshare pproject , he had plan to steer,

In a certain direction, expanding and increasing the amount of books
scanned and then, validated,

And other things, he had in mind,

Yet, another person, for the position, they did find.

During these last who months, much, we couldn't say,

Until the other day,

Yet, a couple weeks ago, roomers were being told

While, all of this ,did unfold,

And no announcement was made, whether, Darrell, the Volunteer Coordinator,
he would be,

Some did not wait, until, they did see,

An article posted to Darrell's blog,his site,

To say, he received an Offer,, that it was alright,

To be talking about it all, in the community.

Some don't ever learn,

And the Pages, continue to turn,

And now, settles, is the dust,

We must, move on, look at the glass half full, that is the only way,

Wouldn't you say?

WE were really disappointed indeed,

And I know, this is an awfully long, Kdd, you do read,

Yet, I have-not written in two weeks, been a long time, much to tell you,

No worries, soon, Iamb through. Lol

WE really thought we would be packing and our jobs, we would have to
resign, would be leaving here, say, goodbye, take good care,

Yet, we are not. my job, I think, it I could bare

Now, that we have some new Management in Housekeeping, but, we shall see,

For a while longer, at this job, I intend to be

It was a very long two months , and now you may understand, you now, see,
the light,

It all makes sense, why, I couldn't write,

Between feeling the stress and what was going on , I couldn't convey

Not until today.

Those of you, whom use the bookshare Service, please continue it, there are
many books,

And for others, go take a look,

From what Darrell does say, there are more than 37,500, to select, on every Genre, that
you can imagine, so go explore,

It willnot be a bore,

And for now, I should get on my way,

It is now, 7 at night, need to feed Dougie and us as well,

And tomorrow, we will have a busy Hotel,

Two-hundred to arrive and depart, so, for us, early to bed,

And hope tomorrow, not much noise above my head?

I am off Wednesday, and perhaps, I will compose another Kdd?

The Relationship Connection, Daring to march to a different drum!

Can you remember a time when people around you assumed you were like
them, or to behave in a certain way, and yet you knew that what they
expected wasn't really who you knew yourself to be?

Perhaps this is also a question.
the world says we are blind, incapable, poor, unable, limited, and
whatever else they say. Do you accept that? Do you sit back and let
that be true? Is it true? Or do you find the courage to stand up and
say first, "no, I am not that." I am far more than you see or
understand. Let me tell you who I am!"

What is it like to find the courage to dare to be more, perhaps
different than what the world says? What is it like to find the words
to make a statement so challenging to most of the world? Do you do it?
Have you ever done it? Can you imagine the courage it takes?

And what if, being who you really are would mean changing every
relationship, every assumption others would have about you in order to
bring such a change about?

Today's KDD: News Events in the past and not feelling well

It is 3 pm on April twenty-one,

And for two days, much I haven't gotten done,

I haven't been feeling great,

Being unproductive, I do hate,

After I finish this, I wil complete our grocery order from Safeway,

And did you know, tomorrow is Earth day?

Did you also know, that this week, was the Oklahoma City Bombing, in 95, 13
years ago?

As well as the Columbine and Virginia Tec shootings, those things did you
know?

I have-not forgotten, do recall,

And how are things, with you all?

I am watching Little House, have it on in the background, as a kid it was
one of my favorite shows,

And did not plan on writing a KDd, one, I thought I would not compose,

Just know, it has been a few days, that I did write,

And it would be nice, if I felt alright,

And maybe, tomorrow and Wednesday, I will accomplish more?

And I better go soon so, tomorrow, we get our groceries from the store

this week is also, "turn off your Tv",

for the most part, Darrell and I agree,

there is not much good programming on the tube,on the Telli

and, I am sure,most everyone, loves Laura,not Mrs. Olson and certainly not
Nelli? lol

And are you surprised I remember so much? Events in the news, that far in
the past?

Or that I remember I began this site one year last?

One year ago? Some things, I would like to forget, but I am not able,

Like the columbine shooting we all watched on cable,

, in 98,

I was living in the Colorado State,

And every few minutes, they would show, the news clip of what happened at
the school, hour after hour,

And did you know, Columbine is a state flower?

Actually, it was the year, 1999,

And hope all is going well for you, that everything is fine,

Day after day,

The news they would play,

So, much I would hear in my sleep, couldn't get it all out of my head,
including that, "I will remember you" that Celene, did sung,

And those kids all were so very young,

So were the students last year at Virginia tech, nor did anyone need to
die in Oklahoma City in 95,

All those people, today, would likely still be alive,

It makes me sad. what is this world coming too?

And I really should go, a grocery order, I need to do

So, should get on my way,

Last KDD for Today: Spending last Weekend with Jen and Alice

It is still April 16, at 7;31,

I am not yet done,

A nice hot shower, I just took,

And while, in there, something, I had overlooked,

I never told you all about our visit with our friends last weekend,

About the time, we had spend,

With Jen and Alice, how can I forget such a thing?

So, here I am, another KDD, to you all I do bring,

On the same day, here to night,

If, I had remembered, a second one, I wouldn't have to write.

Yet, it has been a long day, at work for me,

That is the only explanation, there can be? Lol

Anyway, Anyhoo,

Not at all, much we all did do,

Yet, we all had fun, a good time,

With Jen and her mom, at Olive Garden we did dine,

But, before that , Darrell and Jen and I, hung out at our place and did
chat

While, shopping at Antique stores, Jen's Mom Susanna was at.

They arrived in early afternoon, made stuff to nosh on, fresh fruit and
cheese,

And last weekend, weather was nice, with a cool breeze.

We made pizza bites, had soda and wine coolers ,chatted about the old days,
before I knew those two,

Things we had all done together, and that we would like to do,

,our jobs, family, about what is happening in our lives today

Nine hours, Jen did stay.

Susanna, had the grilled chicken salad, that was all she got,

While Jen, had the eggplant parmesan , piping hot

Darrell, the Tour of Italy

And what else, Seafood Alfredo for me,

The food was delicious and the conversation was great,

And by the time we finished dinner, it was late.

Sunday afternoon, Alice came over, went to lunch, went to Chompies,Subway
was closed then so went there instead,

Large portions, much it all fed,

Both Alice and Darrell had sandwiches, but not me

My favorite meal is breakfast, you see,

I customized my omelet, build my own, and had a bagel too,

With cream cheese and hash browns too.

Of course, we discussed work, and stuff that cannot yet mention here

And Alice, had a beer,

And just soda Darrell and I drank, nothing with alcohol,

And nothing else, I can recall,

Just hung out, enjoyed the time, that was spent,

And very fast, the weekend went.

Well, that is about it,

And can't think of anything else, so I am going to quit,

Going to watch the rest of the movie "Big"

And I don't feel like tig,

Tigger, don't have the spunk, feelling tired, so will end here tonight,

Today's KDD: One Year Anniversary of Karen's Corner

Today it is April 16, at 6; 01,

And a year ago today, this blog I begun,

I finally, am part of the blogesphere ,glad I have the site,

And sorry, it has been over a week since I did write.

Nothing new to report

Except continuing the renovations and servicing our guests at the resort,

Other things, happening that cannot yet be made public,

And later, tonight, will watch a flick,

"Big" with tom Hanks ,on TV land, one of my favorite channels,

And I am sitting here in my PJ's and slippers, soft cotton,not made of
flannel,

I sit here and relax, off my feet,

And by Yesterday, your taxes, did you complete?

You will soon know, what is happening with Darrell and me,I,

And Today, Darrell did fly,

In fact, on his way home later tonight,

You all will soon, see the light,

Was just explaining, why I have-not written much, okay?

How are things?, how was your day?

What all, did you do my friend?

And tonight is my weekend.

Tomorrow, work I don't have to go,

As to what I will do on my day off, that, I don't know.

As I said, exactly a year ago Karen's Corner was created,

And as to, if it is worth reading, I am sure, that could be debated,

Some may appreciate what I do write and say,

While, others, may think, wish it would go away

Not be on the map?, that I am done?

And did you know, posts I have is now 401?,

Actually, now, with this one,

it will be 402,

I made it one year through.

Thanks to Darrell and Jeff, to of my closest friends they encouraged me to
start this site,

Knowing, how much I like to write.

Will I continue this for another year? I hope so,

And for now, I am going to go

I apologize not much I have said, Darrell did just call,

Today's KDD: Rennovations and spending time with Friends

Today is Thursday April 10, at 7; 09,

Hope your all well? doing fine?

Not great, I have been doing, feeling,

And lately at work, can hear much above me, on the ceiling

As some of you may know, they began the guest room renovation, on April
first,

And today, it was much worse,

Then, it has been in this past week affecting everyone around,

I am not scared of the sound,

But, it certainly was getting on my nerves, too much stimuli,

Between that, the phone ringing, radio beeping and Jaws talking, that is
why.

They are removing the old tile, sinks, toilets, and the tubs and putting
in showers instead,

And tonight, I am hoping to go early to bed.

They have begun putting in the electrical too,

They have much more work to do,

The first phase ends June one,

And several months before it will all be done.

I have felt like I have been visiting the dentist, under his drill,

I really have had my fill.

On days like this, I feel like I belong in a calgun commercial by the end
of the day,

And Darrell and I are doing okay.

We have been stressed, but haven't we all? You too my friend?

And we are likely having company this weekend,

On Saturday, our friend Jen, whom we have known a long time

And I am having a fuzzy naval; no wine.

On Sunday, getting together with our friend Alice going to lunch, as to
where, don't yet know

And I am tired, so going to go,

Do take care and stay well alright?

And another time I will write,

Going to chill for the rest of the night,

And tomorrow have housework to do,

And sometime later, I will compose another KDd for you.

Today's KDd: Dougie Groomed and Taxes done

Today it is Saturday, April 5, at 5 at night,

And I know, it has been a few days since last, I did write.

This morning we slept-in until about 8,

And hope your doing fine, that your weekend is great?

This afternoon, we were out, we had our Taxes to do,

As well as went to take Dougie to get groomed too.

We also went to lunch at the Sub Factory, While Dougie, at the groomers,
just a few doors down,

At our Friend Stacey's Shop in town.

WE prepare our taxes at H & R block, since I have additional forms, not
just the W 2

And with the sighted assistance, it is much easier to do,

We have the same tax preparer, as in years past,

She is friendly, efficient, completes the task, fast

Only took an hour, her name is Christine, she is good at what she does,

And Dougie, doesn't have as much hair, not as much fuzz

Not as much fur to shed and it is perfect for this weather

And tomorrow, we may get together,

With our friend Jen,

Not sure when,

Or if it will be tomorrow at all,

Wish she would return our call,

And plans we can make

And 2 hours it did take,

To get Dougie groomed, shaved, and his teeth brushed

And I like cold drinks with ice crushed

But don't need much ice,

And the weather here is not at all nice,

Its 83 degrees,

And on my sub, I had salami, lettace, turkey and cheese,

With oil and vinegar too,

And Darrell had a hot barbecue,

Doritos, and both of us soda pop,

And I bet Dougie is cooler, after the top layer of hair, they did chop.

Well, I hate to have to write and run,

Yet, this KDD, I should get done,

I have housework to do, dishes, bathrooms to clean, and mop the kitchen
floor,

And Scooby Doo's is the name of Stacey's shop: today, she had 30 dogs, not
just four.

I am happy I do not have to go back to work for 3 days, Tuesday, I will
return to the office, on April 8,

And we got a refund for both Federal and state.

Depending upon whether we get together with Jen, I may have time tomorrow to
compose a KDD,

And Jen was Darrell's first Girl friend she once use to be

A very long time ago: 20 years gone by,

And I know, some, would ask why?

And I say, Why not?

And don't like the fact, here it is hot,

She is a good friend of both of us,

So, that's why, I don't make a fuss,

But, I would not, even If I did not know her I am not the jealous type,

And at this moment, Darrell is chatting on skype,

Not sure with whom? And our land line just rung, rang

And as soon as I finish here, going to make myself, some ice tea, not tang,

And it was Jen, and tomorrow we wil not be seeing her, but next Saturday
instead

Her Mom has a cold and they, would like to do some shopping here, also from
what she had said,

So, we will make it a day, it will be fun,

And now, this dose, is really done,

And tomorrow, I will have time to write,

For now, take good care and have a wonderful night.

Today's KDD: Dr. Seuss, our Engagement, and the "house of Tricks"

From what Dr. Seus says, it's better to be brief

Maybe, I should turn over another leaf?,

Maybe, my style, is wrong?

I draw things out, write too long?

Spend too much time?

Maybe, should read more books, like the ones when I was 9?

Maybe, I should read Green Eggs and ham? Or Cat in the Hat?

Maybe, working for a Hotel, is where I wouldn't be at

Answering the phone and serving Guests

Maybe, composing, some short, some long, would be best??

Perhaps, I need to embellish and exaggerate?

Maybe, my writing, would get a higher rate?

Maybe, I need to be like those techie types, programmers and engineers
whom write in two sentences or less, their points are made and quick?

Perhaps, that is the trick?

Maybe, my writing is a chore?

Is less, really more?

Do people sigh when my KDd's, they reed?

Maybe, Dr Seuss, your help I need?

After all you're a talented Children's Writer, a pro?

Is Your route, the way to go?

Maybe, easier, my words will flow?

If they are more alive and are cut in half?

Maybe, then, I will grab my reader's attention? make them laugh?

Tickle their funny bone? Relive some tension?

Allow them to forget their problems for a little while?

To make them forget their troubles and smile?

As they sit and turn the page?

Release their anger, sadness? Depression or rage?

The best medicine, is laughter

Maybe, they will after?

If I change my style, technique and approach?

Who knows? Use Dr. Seuss as a coach

Have I lost my marbles ,my cookies , my mind, my common sense ?

Could I write in the third tense?

Add, characters, actions, scenes and plot?

On the bookshelves, would my novel be bought?

Published? Be sold?

My manuscript, would it be bare, cold?

sit collecting dust?

Be a bust?

Never reach the publisher desks at all? uncertain today ,

Just know, like his books, what he does say,

And do hope your having a good day,

That it is going well,

And maybe, some day, I will have a book, that will sell?

Today is a pretty good one, don't have to work, that is a good thing,

If I had, in the middle of the afternoon, a KDd, I wouldn't bring

And post for you,

As well as lunch with a friend, I would not be able to do.

I was going to go to lunch with my friend Darcy, but, things fell through
again,

Not sure when,

We will be able to go?, where we will eat?

And today, I red about a Guy who proposed, on Twitter, he did tweet,

Speaking of proposals and engagements Darrell and I became engaged 3 years
ago,

That, did you know?

It was exactly 3 years yesterday,

On Jeff's Desert Skies show, love songs, he did play,

Mostly my favorites, he and Darrell did choose for the special event,

Can not believe, how fast the time went

And that it will be almost 2 years are Wedding took place, in June of 06,

And the restaurant I was supposed to go to, was called the "house of Tricks

Never tried their entrees, , treats,

And a few months after the proposal show, Jeff and Keri, I did meet

And we are close friends, we know each other well,

But,if you're a regular Reader,of karen's Corner, that you can already
tell.

Anyway, never been, but Darcy, recommended, going there,

And due to how things are at work, about it, I am not really able to share

And I have been not feeling the best, not that great here, I can not
disclose

there's so much to be read,
you never can cram
all those words in your head.

So the writer who breeds
more words than he needs
is making a chore
for the reader who reads.

That's why my belief is
the briefer the brief is,

In the spring of 1984, Ted Geisel was flabbergasted to learn that he had
been awarded a Pulitzer Prize. "It comes right out of left field,
particularly
after all these years," the then 80-year-old author said. "I'm a writer who
has to eat with the children before the adults eat" (quoted in Dr. Seuss &
Mr. Geisel: A Biography, by Judith and Neil Morgan, Da Capo Press, 1996).

Known to children everywhere as Dr. Seuss, Geisel hadn't always been a
writer of children's stories. Early in his career he published satirical
articles,
wrote advertising copy, and drew political cartoons. Even after gaining fame
with books about Horton, the Grinch, and other comic characters, he kept
older
readers in mind as well. Oh, the Places You'll Go! (1990) may have a reading
level of ages four to eight, but it's most popular as a graduation gift for
high school and college students.

Geisel's thoughts on writing may also be more appropriate for grownups than
for kids. After all, the key to good writing, he once said, is
"meticulosity"--a
peculiarly Seussian quality that takes years to learn.

So this week, while youngsters line up to watch the latest animated version
of Horton Hears a Who, let's attend to some of Dr. Seuss's advice on
writing.

Winnow Out and Write Tight!

You can fool an adult into thinking he's reading profundities by sprinkling
your prose with purple passages. But with a kid you can't get away with
that.
Two sentences in a children's book is the equivalent of two chapters in an
adult book.

For a 60-page book I'll probably write 500 pages. I think that's why it
works. I winnow out.

Keep It Alive!

We throw in as many fresh words as we can get away with. Simple, short
sentences don't always work. You have to do tricks with pacing, alternate
long sentences
with short, to keep it alive and vital. Virtually every page is a
cliff-hanger--you've got to force them to turn it.

Learn by Yourself!

You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by
yourself, sitting alone in a room.

Exaggerate!

I tend to basically exaggerate in life, and in writing, it's fine to
exaggerate. I really enjoy overstating for the purpose of getting a laugh.
It's very
flattering, that laugh, and at the same time it gives pleasure to the
audience and accomplishes more than writing very serious things. For another
thing,
writing is easier than digging ditches. Well, actually that's an
exaggeration. It isn't.

Do Better!

In late 1990, Ted's biographers asked if, after all that he had said in his
books, there was anything left unsaid. Several days later, Ted handed them a
sheet of paper on which he had written: "Any message or slogan? Whenever
things go a bit sour in a job I'm doing, I always tell myself, 'You can do
better
than this.'

"The best slogan I can think of to leave with the U.S.A. would be: 'We can .
. . and we've got to . . . do better than this.'"

Today's KDD: Vacation I would like to go and Becoming Engaged 3 years ago

Today, is March 30,at 2;52,

How are things with you?

Earlier today, I had begun a KDD,yet,I had writer's block,

So, most of the day, just relaxing, listening to rock

And catching up on rest, I am way behind,

And I know, all week, a dose you did not find

Not in your RSS feed or when you clicked the web site,

But, hoping, you will have one, before the end of tonight.

I have no news not anything of real significance to say,

Hope everything with you is okay?,

Work has been more crazy then ever, has been quite stressful indeed,

And a new novel, I yet, did not read,

But, I will, soon, I think,

And at the moment, I am having a fuzzy naval to drink,

Delicious it tastes

And much pressure, lately I have faced

With Spring Break,

A vacation, I would love to take

However, not until some of the guest room Renovations are done

On Tuesday, it, the big project, they will begun,

And later, I will be able to have some fun

They will start with 130 rooms from what management had said

Out of a total of 490, almost 500

Think, this project, will take the rest of the year

And though, I love wine and mixed drinks, I don't like Brandy or beer.

I am helping a close friend, find job leads

Don't like watermelon: tastes like having a glass of water filled with
seeds,

It isn't easy looking for a job

And I do like corn on the cob.

Searching for jobs for yourself or someone else is time consuming,

And I am sure, flowers are now blooming

Darrell went for a swim yesterday, for the first time

This year, and last night, we went out to dine,

We had dinner with our friend Alice she works in the office next to mine

We went to outback, she treated us which was very nice, it, we did
appreciate,

We weren't out late.

We all had the outback Special, with a little variation on how the meat was
cooked

Our dinner, 3 hours, it took,

From the time, we ordered our drinks and appetizers and our coffee at the
end

We had much to talk about, we were among friends.

We discussed our jobs, volunteering at particular agencies

Our hobbies and our families

Her daughter, whom will be a Forest Ranger in Tucson,

And politics and war, before the dinner was done.

I tried a new drink, an auzie Sky,

And we did not have any dessert, no sweet or fruity pie,

The drink, I am not sure, if I like a lot,

Yet, I definitely enjoyed the decalf coffee,that was hot.

The alcoholic drink was fruity and sour, had some zing,

And everything was so good, no doggie bag home to bring

To take, for today,, wish I had,

Because, I felt so full, felt bad,

The sweet potato was very good as well,

And I am so glad, tomorrow, I do not have to go back to the Hotel,

Not until Tuesday, I have 5 days off great, you know?,

And Darrell and I became engaged 3 years ago,

On Tuesday, April one

And that proposal show was much fun

And one, I will not forget,

And soon after, Jeff and Keri, I met,

And we all have been close friends since, which is very cool,

And Alice, Darrell and I, mentioned, going swimming in the pool,

And making an afternoon of it, and going to dinner too,

And can't think of much else, so, soon, this KDD will be through.

It is now, 3;39,

Think, I am going to do some housework ,or read, listen to Marlaina online,

At 6o' clock on mainstream, ACB Radio,

And also watch home makeover, what a good show

Then, I will likely begin, another novel, then call it a night,

And for now, this is all I do write.

Today's KDD: Easter at Hyatt and OPC Factor

Today is Easter Sunday at 7 o'clock at night, watching Home makeover,
channel 15,ABC,

It was another extremely hectic day for me,

At work today, Still Spring Break, so many do stay.

This Home Makeover crew is very cool, all the homes for Families they
re-build,

And today, staff, made barbecue, on the grill,

Delicious, it did smell, what an aroma, wanted to go there for lunch,
instead,

And tonight, going to try and get early to bed.

The hotel was very busy, lots to do

For us in Housekeeping and other staff too,

Everyone needed fridges, microwaves cribs and roll-a-ways

And room service had many trays,

To pick up and remove in the halls,

And all day long I had hundreds of calls

Phone lines ringing off the hook,

And from what I heard, much longer the rooms to clean, it took,

My radio was also beeping a lot, non-stop,

And a recreation staff person, dressed as a bunny, around they did hop,

And I think the Easter Egg Hunt went well for the big kids and the small,

I know, engineering had toilets to repair, don't know about walls,

Ceilings, showers or sinks,?

It was noisy in the office, at times, a little difficult to think,

But, then finally, the day did end,

And how are you friend?.

On my way to work this morning, I was listening to Valley View

Today, I learned something new,

About OPC Factor, do you know about this?

I am glad this segment, I did not miss.

Final KDd for Today: National Pillow Fight Day lol

From what I heard, its National Pillow Fight day?,never heard such a
thing?
But, go ahead, let those pillows swing,
Hit and smack, and throw,
One more time, there, you go! Lol

Do your texas two step, do retreat,
Does notmatter, what you do,just stay on your feet
Side step, duck under,
And if your opponent is blind he or she will wonder,
Where you went, where you gone, maybe, decide to quit?
Then, seconds later, smack again,you do hit. Lol

Be careful not to get feathers everywhere ,,in the room,around the house,
In your computer's hard drive or mouse,
Down your pants down your blouse,
In your PJ's,
If you don't watch out, you will get dizzy,in a daze lol

So, you better start doing some fancy footwork, get on the ball,
Before you get hit again, and on the floor, you do fall.

Are you having fun alleviating your frustrations and stress?
Hope your home isn't in too much of a mess?
If it is, smack them into shape with the pillow,not the broom,
And have them too, help cleanup the room,
You should too, your part of it all,

Are you, off line, or what? Do you know what I am referring too?

Though, I am online, I would really like to be off, not on the information

Be on vacation, relax, and do play.

Last KDD for Today: Sight?or Sound?

Many whom watch this blog read it with their ears, not their eyes

Some with Jaws, other with window-eyes,

And some may use S A to GO,

Which one do you prefer? do you know?

And the rest have full sight,

Use their naked eye to read what I write,

With a little help with glasses or contact lenses, they might?

I was just thinking, how I compose these doses based on what is happening
for me, in my life here,

But, also what rhymes, and sounds good to my ear,

To my screen reader, to Jaws, without him, these I wouldn't easily be able
to compose,

And to my ear, it smoothly does flow.

However, those who don't need a screen reader, may not understand,

Why, the words land,

On the page, as they do,

I think those whom are blind may appreciate these more, instead?

That, my full sighted readers, may not enjoy as much what they have red?

Many comment, these are great, cute and funny,

I really would like to write a novel, make some money.

Why do some of you say, they are filled with silliness, some of my subjects
are serious, wouldn't you say?

I just try to inform others on how I spent my day,

My week, give my point of view,

About news and connect with you.

So, which is it, sound or sight?

How do you read, what I write?

Which is it, reed with the eyes? Or the ears? What do you say?

Does not matter, just hope they brighten your day.

Don't like the thought of my KDD's being silly and cute,

Yet, wouldn't mind, if the humorous ones, you found to be a hoot,

However, if I write about a serious matter or times when I am feeling
depressed or sad,

A different kind of reaction, I would rather you have had,

Perhaps, that is the case?

And hope you all don't find these to be a waste?

Well, its 9; 30 at night, getting late,

And too much at dinner, I ate,

I have left-overs for lunch, that I can have since I will not be going to
lunch after all,

Darcy sent me an e-mail, did not call.

Guess, she's ill, I don't know, maybe a cold? the flue,

Yet, sometime, lunch, we will have to do.

I am so happy Mary Anne and I did connect finally tonight,

And for the first time, she saw Karen's Corner, what I do write.

Its hard to believe we have been friends for 25 years, wow!, been that
long,once in a while, we keep in touch,

She is a close, dear friend, love her very much,

Mary Anne, if you're reading this its true, we may be miles apart,

Yet, think of you often, love ya, and you're in my heart.

We lose contact for months at a time,

Once in awhile send an e-mail on line,

Or play phone tag, wonder how ya have been?

Then, one day, connect again,

Like it was yesterday,

We have to keep in touch more often, every month okay?,

How about that, alright?

I am tired, still mentally exhausted, so, you all have a good night.,

Today's KDD: Spring has Sprung & Chatting with Mary Anne

Today is Thursday March 20 TH, the first day of spring,

And to you all a KDd, I was not going to bring

Because, I am really not doing great,

Yet, the other day, one I said, I'd create,

So here I am, one I will write,

Then, perhaps, I will tell you some other time, how things really are,
alright?

About how I am, me, myself and I,

If I do that now, what I would likely say, would be a lie

I do not really want to talk about me,

Yet, I could tell you all, about other things, in a KDd

Perhaps, how Spring Break is in full swing, at our hotel,

Sounds like guests are having fun, yet for us, in Housekeeping, things are
not going well,

Quite stressful and hectic indeed,

And after it is all over, a vacation, Spring Break, I will need,

Actually right now, do,

And how are things with you?

Since, a dose I said I'd compose,

I better fill my blog with something I suppose?

To delight you all?

And though, I enjoy spring, I always look forward to the fall.

Although, I know, we all have our moods and all have periods of stress,

Unless, I am doing well, it's not best,

To tell you how I am, if I am not doing okay,

I wouldn't want you to hear that on any given day.

So, let's forget about all that, there are better things to tell you all
about, such as what is happening at our hotel,

And if you like to reply, tell me, are you doing well?

What is new?

And now, I wil tell you all about all the things to do,

For our guests, that Recreation has planned,

One of which is playing near the sand.

Our spring breaks are 3 weeks in length, Families here from MarchSixteen ,
to April one,

Filled with relaxation and fun.

They have all kinds of activities some outdoors and in,

Arts and Crafts, and sampling Chardonnay, burbon, not gin,

Tennis clinics, games and yoga away

And music to listen to at, the end of a long day.

One can have their children read books from the Hopi-Cherokee's,

Or play a game of water volleyball, in the sun & cool breeze,

Fly down our 3-story water slide or Splash around in our pools,

Or get some really cool temporary tattoos,

Or play basketball, blindfolded, attempting to shoot baskets in the net,

Or get soaking wet,

In our big splash contest,

Or have hamburgers, hotdogs or barbecue chicken to digest?

What about play beach blanket bingo,

Or go to the Great Arizona Puppet Show?

Or listen to the steal drums or watch the journey of theGypsie's , or the
dive-in movies at night, you can see?

What about making pottery?

Or going to a Texas Hold'em Tournament?

Or ride bikes that you can rent?

What about, Navajo sand paintings?, shaving cream shootoff? do the limbo or
Hula hoop contest

See the Reptiles of the desert, here out west.

On Easter Sunday, they will have an egg hunt for the kids and a staff
person will dress up as a Bunny,

While other guests are soaking up the sun or spending money.

These are most of the activities that recreation has planned, just gives you
a taste of what our guest will experience, when, they stay there,

And its getting late, so, do take care,

Going to go watch Little House and do some housework, clean,

And maybe soon, another will be seen

A dose I will write?

Hopefully, then, I will be feeling alright?

My dear friend Mary Anne from High School Called today,

We have not chatted in ages, and we had a nice chat, yet she had to go,

We got a chance to catch up, itslike old times,that,was so long ago,

Yet, so much time can pass, but the conversations just flow,

We can talk for hours, and she will call me back, I hope so,

I almost did not answer the phone, because as said, I am not doing well
, not doing the best,

Perhaps, I will feel better, after being away from work, catch up on
rest?

Read a good book and spend time with friends tomorrow, going to lunch with

A friend I have known for a while whom I have not seen since before the
Wedding ,but talk now and then, we always say,lunch,we got to do,

Yet something happens, and plans fall through .

Not sure where we will dine?

We will figure it out in the morning I suppose?

KDd: Spring Break, A busy Hotel and Nethugs Message: Irish Wishes

Hi Everyone,

The Time is 7;03
I am not here to write the KDd,
My Brain is fried and my day was long,
and hope you all haven't had anything too strong,
to drink?
and, since it was another hectic and stressful day, it takes too much
energy to think,
and to create,
so, a KDd for you, will have to wait.

Perhaps tomorrow, I will tell you about my last 2 days at work, its now
Spring Break a happening place,
at our resort,
so tonight's message will be short
wish I could say, all is going smooth and in a timely Manner,
but,not so much, but I am sure, some of our Guests are getting Tanner? lol
sitting out by our Pools and soaking up some rays,
and the next time I compose a KDd, I will tell you about the fun ways,
recreation is keeping our guests entertained,kids of all ages,
While us staff, continue to earn our wages
doing our jobs and collecting those checks,
While, guests relax up on deck,
by the pools,or at the health club,
Or at one of our restaurants or sitting in a hot tub,
Having a cocktail ,an umbrella drink,or serving that ball,
at our water volleyball game or taking a trip to the local Mall?
or getting temporary tattoos?
so,much our guests can choose,

I will tell you all that too,

Nethugs Message: An Irish Blessing

Since, I will be working Tomorrow Through Wednesday, I wasn't sure if I
would get a chance to send this before St. Patrick's Day. Today, I
have-not done much. Tonight I will begin another novel, " Another Door Away
from Heaven". My Friend Mary Anne actually did call me, finally. We were
unable to chat long,since, she was on her way out to a St. Patrick's Day
Party at her Neighbors. We have so much to catch up on and will, hopefully
Thursday,which will be my next day off.
I wish I could be off Monday and listen to Irish music. Its lots of
fun,makes you want to kick your heels up and do an Irish jig. lol
Well,need to run and serve up Darrell some of this beef and potatoes I
made today. What a wonderful Aroma. Take care and look at the below

Today's KDd: Our Saturday and News I heard Today

Its Saturday March 15, at 1; 29,

Hope your well? Doing fine?

Just took Darrell's lunch out of the microwave,

And I can not believe, my document, it did not save,

Even though, I did, not sure what happened?

And how are you friend?

So, as I said, a KDd earlier, I began

And Safeway delivered extra Cans,

Stuff we did not order at all

And my Folks this morning we did call.

We had a conversation with my Dad,

And a good week, hope you all had?

Dad was outdoors shoveling snow

And right now, listening to Desiree's show

He was breaking up the ice,

And though, the conversation wasn't very long, it was pleasant and very
nice.

He told us about how this winter; they got 8 feet of snow,

And how skiing this year, he did not go

And that he bought both a desktop and Laptop, both a dell,

And I told him about my conjunctivitis and how work is going at the hotel.

He also said, he has a bad back and computer lessons he is taking,

And in quite awhile I have not done any baking,

Yet, Today I am making a beef stew in the crockpot

And here it is starting to get hot,

About 80 degrees,

And Darrell just had chimmy's with beef and Bean, not cheese

With chips, not fries,

And better, do feel my eyes.

Though, the left is still read, worse then the right

And we were going to go out to dinner tonight

To Applebee's restaurant, yet, changed our mind,

And I can't believe, in one's house, 800 dogs the Humane Society did find.

How can anyone do that? that astonishes me,

And I am sure, you agree?

That is tragic, neglect and abuse, how did they allow it to go on this
far?

To this magnitude? they were not found in one's car,

Yet, in a single trailer home, in a very small space

And as said, Safeway brought cans we did not order, like peaches and apple
sauce, not tomato paste,

And Mushroom soup and English muffins those I like well,

Especially with cream cheese or Jelly, and I cannot believe these folks,
these chawawa's, they tried to sell

I assume, they were arrested? Fortunately this is not the Norm,

And also did you hear about the Atlanta Storm?

Or the plane crash here?

And I am sure, many on Monday, St. Patrick's Day, they will drink green
beer?

Have you heard too, about, the drugs found in the water? Crazy, wouldn't
you say?

And we heard from Tara and Bob the other day,

I am sure, in the spring, Dad, Bob and Bobby, Golf they will play?

And Thursday, the 20 th, Our Niece Katie will be 10,

And not sure when,

I will see my family next?

And I am glad; I will soon discontinue these antibiotic eye drops, called
tobradex.

There is nothing to report or say,

Everyone is trying to just make it from day to day,

Week to week, same old, same old, nothing new,

And I am sure; the same is true for you too?

Most are just trying to complete tasks and projects at work and pay the
bills and stay out of debt?

Not much time for a vacation? or to even sit down and surf the net?

Assist their kids with Homework and have meetings with the School? Go to
The PTA?

Run errands? go to doctor's appointments?, clean up messes every day?

Or write papers and complete school projects just attend classes each day,

Despite the fact, you may not be feelling okay

Retain much information in your brain,

Worry about traveling in the snow? Or Rain?

?

Not much happening for us the same goes,

And sorry in a few days, a KDD, I have not composed.

I was looking at Today's Headlines, and as usual, nothing positive or
upbeat, stories being reported and told,

And at our Hotel, every room for the next 3 weeks will be sold,

For many its Spring Break, many Families come to relax and have fun,

To play and soak up the sun.

I will tell you later, what kinds of activities, our recreation department
will do,

And I am going to do some housework when this is through.

My close Dear friend Mary Anne, I am trying to reach,

And right now, wish I was on the beach,

She and I have been playing phone tag and sending e-mail, havenot spoken in
a long time

She is a old friend of mine,

From High School, that, was a very long time ago,

Who knows when we will connect? I don't know?

Well, I don't have much here to add,

So will go, hope a good day, you have had?,

As well as your week hope it is a good one,

And for now, this dose is done.

Today's KDD: Memories of an Old Friend and Spring Break

Its 8 o'clock at night on Monday March Nine,

Hope your all well? doing fine?

I mean, March ten ,

how have you been? lol

I am not sure where to begin, don't know what to say,

Recently, did find a old Friend on Google, he lives in the San Francisco

Bay

Well, Berkeley to be exact, Met Richie, in 88,

Met him at the Carroll Center then, in Newton Mass, his home state,

And I was the Jersey Girl and 12 years younger then he,

Despite this, great friends, we came to be.

I was single, and was attempting to complete my College Career,

While he was Married, with Children the family near,

We both were newly blind, especially him, and we began our training

together, as a team, New Students, just he and I,

And 5 months later, he and his Family, they did fly,

Out to Phoenix, to Scottsdale,

So, the program, he did bail,

He did complete,

Found a job, and lived in this bloody heat.

We had things in common despite our age and Religious beliefs, he,

Judaism,

And me, Catholicism,

And he discovered some of my Karen isms,

That I snort, when I laugh, like to dance and fence,

And sometimes, I don't make much sense.

And despite our different backgrounds,

Much time we found,

To sit and chat and get to know each other well, we formed a special bond,

each other, we were quite fond,

And kept in touch and did for several years,

From 88 to 2000, when I was working at Sears,

Man, that job I did hate,

And back in September of 94, came to this state,

To Arizona for the first time,

To visit Richie, hang out, watch movies and dine,

Spend time with his Family, his EX Wife Rachael, kids Avima and Josh,

Cousins, good conversations and interesting things to nosh,

Then, they were Teenagers,

And back then, did not have internet, cell phones and pagers.

In fact, when we were at the Carroll center, we used typewriters and tape

recorders for record keeping, no xm radio stations to listen there,

And recall, back then, going with him to a Marathon, some athletes in

wheelchairs,

Had delicious cheesecake, this was on Patriot's day,

Movies we would watch, music and cards we would play,

And chat at night,

Discussed numerous of things, more then, just how we lost our sight.

He was there for me through my college Career, whether I was a student at

Bradford, Raritan Valley Community College or Ramapo ,

And he did not miss the snow,

We would chat on the phone and catch up on what was happening in each

other's lives, was there for me, when my Grandma passed away and when I

went to the Seeing eye,

He enabled me to come out of my shell, then after, I wasn't as shy

Made me feel at ease and accepted me for who I was on the inside, not

by how I did look, for, he couldn't see,

He got to know the real me.

The Staff at the Carroll Center did not agree with my decision to go to the
Seeing Eye,

In early July,

Yet,not Richie, he understood, he did,

And though, I was 24, and he 36, he sometimes called me Kiddo, to him, I
was a kid,

A close friend, a little Sis,

And our friendship I do miss

Why is it that many people assume its wrong to be friends with aman and a
Woman that is not a friend of their husband or Wife?

Don't you think, you could miss an opportunity to know someone great in
your life?

What is wrong with two friends getting together?

Why should, they effect the relationship?: cause stormy weather?

Some get Jealous, over these issues, Friends I did lose,

Darrell and I do choose,

And like most, we don't feel,

We think, its really no big deal,

That a man and a woman can be friends,its okay.

Why not, they could teach us something? With them we could have fun,you
know?

They could have an impact on us, helpus to grow,

To thrive and be a better person, after that point, from that day,

What do you think?, What do you say?

Anyway, a Career in Business he chose,

And back then, no KDd's I did compose,

And not even journaling I did not have a way to express my thoughts, there

was no internet and e-mail,

Was very new at reading and writing Braille,

And doing other things the blindness way,

Took me a long time, to become the person I am today.

Although, I had to return to another training center years later, in 95,

the Carroll Center build my confidence enough for me to complete my degree

learn skills, but I still was not well adjusted to the fact, that very

little I could see,

And that my world was slowly getting darker, around me.

However, people like Richie, helped me while in class,

And even after, when I attended Bradford in Haverhill Mass,

Whether it be Daily living, sensory training and Fencing for Mobility and

Orientation,

Or Record Keeping, Attitudes or Yoga, we took for meditation.

In addition to that, we had a small group counseling class to discuss,

losing our sight,

After all the activity all day long, hang out at night,

Much time we also had spend,

Together in the lounge in the /Residence Hall,

And once graduated from the program, each other often, we did call.

Sometime though in the late 90's, we drifted apart; we wouldn't talk for

a long while, for months at a time,

Though, from time to time, wondered, how he was, doing fine?

Then, I moved to the State of Arizona 99, and we both lived herein the

Valley, only a short distance away,

Yet, never got together, and within a year, he moved away,

To Cal I forn I Ay,

Chatted very little since online, and here we are, its now today.

I am hoping our friendship, we can renew

And meet his Wife, Channa too?

Well, it's now, Tuesday, March 11 th, at 9; 36, another day,

Hope your doing great? not just, okay

Today I am off, and I am not going to do much, take a break,

And Yet, I am certainly, not awake.

Darrell is also taking time off, time together we will spend,

And soon this, I will send.

Spring Break for the hotel begins Sunday, a very busy time you see,

3 weeks it will be,

Later, I will tell you more of what Recreation has planned, not much at the

moment I do recall,

Do know, they will play Water volleyball and have contest playing

basketball

And likely again, the Texas Holdem and beach blanket Bingo,

Family Singalong's? Certainly not a concert by, former Beatle Ringo. Lol

They will definitely have the dive-in movies, out by the pool,

And other stuff, that is very cool.

I will tell you more at a later date,

I am going to go, but I hope your Tuesday is great,

I want to relax and just chill,

Catch up on sleep, read another Novel, watch Little House, those things I

will do I will,

Today's KDD: Careers and more about the book I recently red here

It's shortly after 7 on Thursday March 6,

And I am trying to wake up, drinking coffee and listening to a beach boy's
mix

"Fun, fun, Fun, Good vibrations and Surfing U S A,

And both my eyes are feeling a little better today,

Not as much, not as bad,

Yet, still, it's driving me mad,

Because I can't scratch or rub my eyes,

And this morning, earlier Darrell and I did rise,

Rose, a meeting he has as we speak,

And well, hope is going your week?

Someone from the E-site Career Network he is chatting with, discussing
his career,

Where, he would want to go from here

Changes he would want to make

Head in another direction, Path? And avenue

And today, how are you?

Hopefully, this meeting will be worthwhile?

And a little later, need to clean the tile,

Do housework, including mopping the floor and other things too,

Need to read our mail, by midday, I should be through.

Then, tomorrow, to work I do return and work all weekend,

And I know lately, much I did send,

And I am doing better, feel alright,

With the exceptions of my eyes and trying to awake, I am doing more then
okay,

And thinking about, the idea of when, in the rain, not getting soaking wet,

it would be nice to stay dry, some of you I know, may be lost,

Today's KDD: Conjunctivitis and Quantum Physics

Today is Wednesday March 5 th at 2; 06,

On the Radio is Billy Joel, not the Police or Styx.

This morning I went to my Doctor, our GP,

Because I thought I had an eye infection you see,

Our Ophthalmologist couldn't see me for 3 weeks so, I went to our GP
instead,

And this morning, the novel I had red,

The one I was reading I finished it, I would definitely recommend,

And how are you, my friend?

I have Conjunctivitis from what both Doctors said

And both my eyes, not just one is red,

Especially the left, not the right,

And I stayed up very late, last night

Reading

And eye drops 2 in each eye,4 times a day I am needing,

For 10 days strait

And the book, "from the Corner of his Eye was excellent,great

Is one of his best that Dean Koontz wrote and published 8 years ago,

And I never did know,

That someone whom has prosthetic eyes could get conjunctivitis, otherwise
known as Pink Eye?

Did you? Not I?

Not Me

And wouldn't it be interesting if more then one world we could be

Living? not dead?

Concepts of Quantum physics were mentioned in that book, I just red.

Wouldn't it be cool, if you could walk where the rain did not fall?

Or tossed an object beyond the wall?,

into another time or place

Or I could see again? rather then have these plastic eyes on my face?

Rather then empty eye sockets in my Head?

This is some of the stuff discussed in this book, would be nice to be in
several places at one time?

For you, would that be fine?

Wouldn't it be interesting if you could be in one place, and then vanish,
reappear?

Would you experience fear?

Worry, if you couldn't get back?

And on the way home, I picked up Wendy's for Darrell, not Mc D's, big Mac.

This Novel had all the elements that made a good book,

Keeps you in suspense, hooked

Filled with a ton of action, mystery, Drama and Romance

Even if you don't like Science, specifically Physics, give it a chance,

Read it think you would be pleasantly surprised,

And now, that I have my drops, have a little relief for my eyes

.

I am doing better then I was doing two days ago,which is a very good
thing,

And today, its 70 degrees, with a breeze,feels like early spring,

It's a beautiful day,

And I should get on my Way,

Do need to do housework and order groceries from Safeway,

Glad I don't work tomorrow,

With this infection, I am contagious for 24 hours, and I no longer feel
down, sorrow,

I can see the sunshine, things don't seem as bleek,

And hope you all enjoy the rest of your week,

Take good care, alright?

And at a later date, I will write.

Nethugs Message: Beginning Today

Lately, I am not feeling very positive. Usually, I am pretty
optimistic about life. I am struggling and feel I am not good at many
things, don't have many skills and no talents. I am in a real blue funk.
That is why I did not write a KDD yesterday. Actually, I did, but did not
post it. I have been very frustrated recently learning how to use all
these features on my new cell phone. Why would anyone want to see, my
pessimistic posts? You all may never return to this site and keep up with
how I am.
I am doing better today but not great. So, I need to find some inspiration.

Today's KDd: Scripting On Main Menu and my love Hate relationship with Technology

Its 6;30 pm on Tuesday March Four,

We just got back from the AT&T store,

&, In the nick of time for Darrell to co-host Main menu

And chat with the Guest, listeners and monitor i.m too.

We went to lunch, at the New Mall here, not far, only about 5 minutes it is
at,

Went to King Fish House, Outside we sat,

We were going to go To Ruby Tuesday's, yet its doors are not even open
yet,

We went to lunch with Alice, 8 years ago we met.

She will be leaving Hyatt in September, Retiring, wasn't at all
surprised,

For her, think this is wise

And a good decision for her mental sanity ,

Time at work, not the same it will be,

Now, that she will be leaving and so did already my friend Michael

And yesterday, Darrell had a chance to ride on a motor Cycle. lol,

He went to the office yesterday took a ride around the block with his friend
Tony, not Russ or Mac,

Darrell sat on the back,

And they were being two wild and crazy Guys.

Now, Doug is discussing scripting of window-eyes and the new version 7.o
,not released yet until after CSUN,

Scripting to me, doesn't seem like fun,

Yet someone else will find it a blast

And this program does go very fast.

I think the analogy he uses to explain the process of scripting is a
good one indeed

Non-techie's like me, more help I would need.

Defining objects, properties, methods and events in terms that anyone can
understand is the thing to do,

If non-programmers have a chance of learning scripting too.

The analogy of using the example of the Dog as the object is simple, and a
good one, to demonstrate, this is a good way to explain,

But not for long, with my brain.

and a good example of a" method", is playing dead

For me, most of this "stuff" is way above my head

Its now, 7;05,

And much earlier home, we thought we would arrive

Think, I will exit out of the main Menu Window had enough you see

Don't feel good about my ability to use technology

These Days can't even use my cell phone just can make and receive,

Calls, I don't believe,

I will learn these features, maybe I will ?

Will I gain the skill?

And do such things as play, on the net listen to music? Send mail to a
friend?,

Or my days numbered with this device?, Will it Come soon to an end??

I know, I shouldn't compare myself to my three closest friends whom just
happen to be techs, this stuff, comes with ease for each,

Will someone be able to teach?

Someone like Me?

I am not technical at all

I have a degree in psychology after all,

Work for the Hyatt Corporation, as a Housekeeping Office Coordinator,

Don't think I will learn much more, any time sooner or later?

Perhaps, I am Justin a blue funk?

Maybe, the classes being offered I wouldn't flunk

Maybe, I could learn more in time?

For some, during the dinner hour,

For the blind, if not accessible, discuss the technical Ramifications

And how to use various products on our jobs and at home on our PC's

For some, technology is a breeze,

Comes natural, nothing much for me does, feeling discouraged, My skills and
talents, I don't see,

And it took us a while at ATT & T.,

I wanted to transfer the names on the account, with mine being the
primary one,

But, after going to the store today and several minutes on the phone,
finally told, that cannot be done,

That I have to wait 60 days, just want to take advantage of my Hyatt
discount ,18 % we get,

Thought, I would just have to show my Hyatt ID make me the primary user,
then we would be set,

Guess, it wasn't so,

And lunch tomorrow , with Marie, Darrell will go,

His former Boss and friend

And Main menu did end.

Did you know, today was National Grammar day? Tomorrow it aint,it is not,

And though, Grammar, I definitely was taught,

It doesn't always seem that way,

Because, I mangle sentences up every day,

When I write, send a letter or post a KDd to my site

Some aspects of grammar I have mastered I know, do understand,

Yet, with editing, I often, need a hand,

I struggle with punctuation with commas colon's, semicolons where they
go,

Sometimes I use too many, or not at all, you know?

Growing up I never read for pleasure,

Books, back then, I did not treasure

It wasn't fun more like a chore

Even though, I learned to read before 4

My very First Book was" Ballerina Bess",

Yet, details I did miss, I confess

As I progressed through school, the print became smaller not as easy for me
to see, to read,

In High School,Help I did need,

Used large print dictionary's and books on tape from RFB

Yet, Braille is what I should have been using instead,

That, was the way it was, the life I had led.

Now I face the consequences today

And despite the fact, that I am doing okay

Would like to do better, improve my writing style

And this KDd, has taken awhile.

Life was a lot different with partial sight

I am not feeling as bad as I was last night

I knew, a good night's sleep and lunch with a friend would help me,

I am sure you agree.?

Tomorrow I go to the Doctor, I have an eye infection, I think,

And at our dinner, tonight, I did drink,

I did have Jumbo shrimp and pasta Alfredo and a Pine-colada to drink,

And Darrell and Alice Fish and chips, Darrell only ice tea,

Knew in one hour, hosting on Main Menu, he would be.

Its now 8;31,

This is long, so for now, I am done.

Last KDD for Today: So long, Farewell, ACB R I

Its still Saturday, March 1, at 1;59,

Hope your all well?, doing fine?

We both are both having a relaxing Saturday off, just lollie-gagging

And no more music files, tracks, we will be tagging ,

No more shows will be broadcasting,

Perhaps, we will again, do some Podcasting?

Some joint ones? and some Darrell will do on his own?

His always take a much different tone ,

So much more technical, the subject he does address,

And the apartment is a bit of a mess,

And housework I should, do

But, other things, I'd rather do,

Like read, and write to you.

I wanted to compose a KDd, about our farewell show it was our Finale

One of tech items Darrell discussed was a lawsuit that is happening in the
Silicon Valley,

And,I on days off,like to diddle dallie.

The Lawsuit is between two web hosting companies too many people suing
these days,

Issues, Darrell did raise,

And mentioned the matter with Podshow, that too,

And the things some folks there said, they would do,

That never got done,

And for three hours we had fun.

We had a good time presenting our last show,

And we are sorry, we have to go,

But, we have things to do, will take a leap,

But, our e-mail and URL's we will keep.

We began with weekend songs and then played a set from our first episode,

And then, we played a lot of Weird Al, went into a comedy mode ,

Though, I wanted to play songs that express, our sentiment , that we
had to depart,

I also wanted to play top hits off the charts

And then play Weird Al's Parody of each,

The highest numbers of listeners, last night we did reach.

Usually we only have fewer than 10

At that number it's been,

Most of the time, we don't look at the listener count, it doesn't matter,
its still okay,

We participated in interactive, because , we truly enjoy the music we did
play

And had fun being on the radio

For me, music and dancing are other hobbies of mine,

Since before I was 9.

We began with the Beatles Hello, Goodbye,

Did you know, that was the very first song played on ACB R I?

Back ing 2000, not 2006

Then, we continued on with, " Friday, I am in Love" by the Cure, not the
Fix,

Or Men at work or Styx.

Next, we chose a set from our first show, our debut from August 4 th, 2006

We did not play any Dixie chicks,

Yet, first song was Rock this town by the stray Cats,

not men without Hats,

Then, Old time Rock and Roll , weird Science and Another one Bites the dust
by Queen

Not Elvis or James Dean.

From then on, we had this Motif played a top 40 song and then Weird Al's
Parody like another one, rides the Bus, King of Swade, and I bought it on
E-bay,

I love Rocky Road and I lost on Jeopardy, and she drives like crazy, we
also did play.

In the last hour,

We did not play any Jazz, like did, Steve Bower,

Yet a favorite song by the Birds, Turn,turn, turn and song " unwritten,

Does that describe me? Is it fitten?

I think that, Birds song is quite meaningful, wouldn't you say?

Don't you agree?

Our last set had Stepping out by Joe Jackson and Blowing in the Wind by
Peter, Paul and Mary,

Not Michael Jackson or anything sung by Jim Carey.

Today's KDD: March First and the Two Year Anniversary of the KDD

Its 11 a.a.m on Saturday March one,

Nothing yet today, I have gotten done,

Since late I was up, Kids up Partying and also I was reading,

So, sleeping in, I was needing.

All I did so far was chat with my sister Tara , catching up, She has had the
flu

As well as all 3 kids too.

She has been reading my blog and through this medium she knows, what is
happening for Darrell and I,

We discussed our farewell to the Desert Café, the fact, that we had to say
goodbye

It was a difficult decision yet one that is best for us, two,

And if you look at Today's Mountain Wings Message, I think its all true.

Our walk or March through Life is the best teacher for ourselves and
others,

As well as we can truly learn from our peers, family, friends,certainly our
mothers.

Today,is a perfect day, time to head in a new direction a purpose for
everything,

And this is one of many reasons, no longer the Desert Café to you all, we
will bring.

Their other projects that need our focus ,our efforts are needed
elsewhere,

However as I stated, you can write us here,

And next week, the eye Doctor, I, will have to go,

My eyes are hurting me,

Both are prosthetic, so not at all I can see.

They itch and especially the left is red,

From what my friend Andrea,our Chiropractor yesterday had said.

So needless-to-say,

Haven't been wearing them since yesterday

Wearing my sun glasses my dorky shades

And when I was about 8 or 9, wore my hair in braids.

Right now, the song, " Wildest Dreams" is playing, the Artist Escapes me,

And two years ago, today, I wrote the first KDD.

If you all want to know, how the KDd, did evolve, go back to April of 07,
their I do explain, the first several, were not very good at all,

And its nice to look back, memories I can recall,

Of what went on for me, each week, any day,

Whether I was physically or mentally feeling good, or just okay,

Like anything with practice makes perfect that, will never be the case,with
these doses I compose,

Yet,it's a creative way,I have chose

To Journal, to express my thoughts, to write,

And 11 months ago, I created Karen's Corner, this site. ( smile)

If you would like to see , how too, that came about, whom inspired me,
April is the month to go,

And much more about me, you do now know.

The first, KDD, was quite awkward and not very interesting reading,

And honestly, several classes I am definitely needing

Should take,

If a good writer, I will some day, make?.

That may happen, that, I don't know? I am self conscious of what others
read and know about me,myself and I,

Yet, who knows, perhaps, some day, I will really do try?

For now, I will continue writing here, I enjoy this very much,

And it's a way for you all to stay in touch.

Darrell is playing with his cell phone can now hear music on it quite cool
indeed,

And more of the novel, today, I will read.

However, today, I had to write another Karen's Daily dose since, it is
the Anniversary,

And on the XM Radio is playing Back to life, back to reality( smile). lol

Hopefully many of the cell phone features I will learn to do,

Giving advice is easy. Giving really good advice is harder.
Providing an example is hardest but is usually the most effective
way of influencing both youth and adults. After all, adults are
simply older youths who were influenced by someone's example
early in life.

Our walk or march through life is the greatest teacher that we
will provide for others. Even Paul in the Bible said,
"Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."
(1 Cor 11:1 NIV)

Today is the beginning of the month of March.

Perhaps today should also be the beginning of a new walk.
A walk of direction and purpose. A walk worthy to follow.

March first.

Today's Last KDD: How I spent my Friday and soon in two hours, the music will play,

Its Still Friday February 29, at 3;44,

And in less then 4 hours, we will open the Café doors.

For the last time, then, the café will be shut down

Yet, Darrell and I will still be here in town,

As we said last night,

You can visit our sites,

And see what is happening for us, on his blog and mine,

Or sendus e-mail or instant messaging online,

Both very well, we can type, lol

And can chat on skype

Those are options as well,

When, I am not working at the Hotel.

We may not be on interactive anymore, but, gone, we will not be,

Our intent was to broadcast much longer, but for reasons mentioned, we
will not,

And, I can tell, the cold weather is gone, it's now getting hot,

Its now, 82 degrees and I am wishing for snow, well, at least 50 degrees,

And autumn leaves falling, a cool, crisp breeze

And even better, a cruise, I would love to go, be near the ocean with the
wind in my hair

And fun times with family or friends on a ship, I'd love to share.

We have the patio door open and both windows, getting a cross breeze,not
as hot, the room did cool,

at this rate, soon, we can swimin the pool.

Our friend Andrea and her Mom are going on a cruise tomorrow heading to
Mexico she is taking a vacation,

In the living room have on the 80's station.,

Speaking of electronics, I think our living room TV, cable box is broken
atech,may have to be sent out here,

And at Andrea's office, an hour ago,I was just there.

Most of my body, was out of alignment my right arm, back , hips and my
neck,

I wasn't even in a wreck,

Also my right knee,

Not sure, why, that is the case for me?

Typically, my arm needs to be adjusted because of the injury I had 12 years
ago, most of the adjustment explains why,

And I cannot believe how quickly time does fly.

Not only, had I that fall, over a decade ago,

But, as you do know

Tomorrow is March One,

Already, two months of the New Year are over, finished, done.

In addition to all that two years ago, I began writing journal entry's ,in
this style,

Now, I have a permanent log, to keep on file.

I will create a special dose tomorrow and write about that , sometime
during the day

I am sure, about the KDD revolution, I will have something to say? Lol

Who would have thought, that after posting a Dose just a couple hours ago,
to my site,

That, I would find more to write?

Made a stop on the way home, to the UPS store

Arrived back home before 4

Sent a package out to a friend, from Darrell,not me,

And the UPS Guy, told us, only one more month, there, he will be.

Here in our City, they are putting in the light rail, many are upset and
think will cause more traffic problems then its worth

And last Friday, the 22 nd, was the day of my Birth.

Some say, there will be too much congestion, difficult to get around,

And according to Jeff, the UPS Guy, Condominium's will be found,

Right now, some of the business's are are already closed the rest will be
demolished

And the mini deep dish Pizza bites we got tonight, will be eaten and
polished

They we will digest,

And don't know, if doing this, will be best?

Destroying buildings that have been there for years??? At this point, don't
know if that will be a good thing

And Post 373, to you all I do bring

Its now, 4;23,

And soon, on the air, will be Darrell and me,

And maybe Dougie too?
