The Grinch,Denver Trip and lost a close Friend

Hello Everyone,

Its New Year's Eve so this will be the last post for 2010. My apologies
for not blogging much the last couple months. I thought about composing
one last, KDD for the year, but it has been a bitter-sweet day for us.
There really hasn't been much going on for Darrell and me since the last
post, just the usual, work for me, and School for Darrell. WE both have had
colds. I am still not completely better, feel pretty good but still have
this wicked cough--,again .
On November 20 th We went to see the Grinch who Stole Christmas at Gamege
over at ASU. We had discounted tickets through Work. It was fun, very good
and a great Saturday afternoon.
Soon after,During Thanksgiving Darrell and I went to Denver to Visit our
very close dear friend Tina. WE stayed at the Hyatt at the Convention
Center near the 16 th Mall. It was a wonderful long holiday weekend.
WE flew on Thanksgiving Day and the flights there and back were uneventful.
WE didn't have to go through the special Scanning procedures and Joyce did
very well guiding me through the airport.
Later that day, we had a excellent Thanksgiving Dinner. The Hotel had
a fantastic buffet, many traditional items and some that are not such as:
Salmon, ravioli pasta and a pork dish. In addition to getting twelve free
nights I also get 50 % offon Food and Beverage.
Throughout the weekend we listened to some of our Favorite Broadcasters on
ACB Radio Interactive. Our close friend Jeff Bishop and his friend JR did
an eight hour marathon show, lots of fun! lol
WE spent time browsing shops and walking the mall, taking the light rail
and trying a few new Food Venue's, The Pasta Company and Anthony's Pizza.
The Best was just visiting in person.

As it states in the subject, recently we lost a good friend. Her name is
Marian. She has had a very challenging, stressful year
First she was self employed,an Interior designer and lost the business two
years ago. Then, this year, lost her home.
Marian's health has never been good, she had a Chronic Heart condition, among
other things. She was a very sweet lady and Our Parent's age. She loved
The Arts,Theatre, was great at arts and crafts, very religious and had good
taste for Italian and seafood. :)I saw her last ,right before our trip to
Denver. The day before, she had taken a bad fall and injured her knee.
Soon after we got together last month, she was hospitalized, the knee became
infected.
Then, three weeks later they transferred her to a Rehab Center here in
Phoenix. She didn't get very good care there from what she had said.
She was discharged from the Hospital on December 20 th. we last spoke to
her on Friday December 17 th and never heard from her. WE left several
phone messages but she never returned our calls.
Our intuition told us that something was wrong, she always returned our
calls. WE heard from her Close friend Laura this afternoon.

Evidently,Marian got a very bad infection while in the rehab Center which
spread to her colon so she was treated for that at a local hospital near
her home.
Yesterday, she had surgery to remove the colon. She made it through the
surgery but her heart failed during the night. we are very sad and will be
attending the Memorial Service for her in a couple weeks. She is at peace
and has she, herself would say, it was the time for the Lord to take her
home. She has been a good friend to us these last 6 years and we will miss
her.
Not much else happening. WE did have a quiet but nice Christmas. I had
to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,the Hotel was sold out. I did
have Sunday the 26 TH off so we opened gifts then. we also made a
Turkey Dinner with all the sides from Safeway and watched movies using the
Apple TV that I gave Darrell for Christmas. O,we also got a wireless
doorbell so likely won't miss anyone who comes to our door.
Darrell gave me my gift two months early,an IPhone witch I love. It was an
early Christmas,Valentine's and Birthday gift. I can do more withit then I
did with my Motorola Q windows phone in the 3 or 4 years I had it.:) lol
Its amazing!
The weather here has been extremely cold, freezing actually we got snow
yesterday. Yes, upin Scottsdale and in East Mesa we had a few flakes and it
is very windy.
This is the first time in a decade that I have New Year's Eve and New
Year's Day off. The Hotel isn't having their Big Bash tonight. They don't
have the resources, economy isn't helping matters. I have heard in past
years it was great, very expensive but fun. I am sure we have lots of
disappointed guests. I am certainly delighted that I have the time off
WE were hoping to go back East for Christmas or sometime next Month. We
had plans too, then, we had some new Groups make Reservations at the Hotel
and thus, increased occupancy, needing more staff to work.

WE likely will go back home to New England in June. It will be a good
time, our Nephew Bobby will be graduating from High School then. wow,how
time flies!
Our friend Larry will be Broadcasting on Acb Radio Interactive soon. After
Him, it will be Jeff and JR Rock'in in the New Year till 1 a.m Mountain
time. WE also will tune in to Dick Clark too. lol
Tomorrow we will be getting together with our friend Allison. Not sure
what we all will do but that too, wil be fun.
Take care and Happy New Year. Hope 2011 will be a happy, healthy and
productive year for you all. May it be everything you want it to be. Till
then.
