Today's KDD: The Long and Winding Road: Still Feeling Ill and Darrell completing his Semester

Its One in the afternoon on Sunday November Twenty-nine,

Hope you're Well, doing Fine?

Did you have a good Thanksgiving? Enjoy your time together?, the Holiday
Feast?

Would like to hear from you, those in the West and in the East.

I know, its been ages, since I have composed a KDD,

But, have not been well, you see.

Yes, the doses are few and very far between, the creativity these days
just doesn't flow

And in New England is there now snow. ?

Mary Beth, I know Skiing you wanted to do last weekend but, know there
was sunshine,

And I haven't spent as much time on line

Do use Twitter, but not really Facebook

Lately haven't even read a good book.

Facebook is too difficult to Navigate

Perhaps, I would have more patience with it, if I were feeling great?.

I have been stressed and not as much sleep I get,

Nor, I haven't begun shopping on the net,

Usually by this time of year our shopping is almost done, packages are
being sent,

Honestly, I don't know where the time went

Do you?

Been working hard, been ill, as said, its not the flu.

2009 has been an unusually bad year, not at all the norm

Had oral surgery, respiratory issues and at work changed to a new
platform.

The dental problems took 9 months from beginning to end

And at the time of the second oral surgery, thought I was on the mend

Had no pneumonia, was feeling good, could again breathe,

Had a little reprieve.

However, Labor Day Weekend the coughing and other symptoms began

And in the last few months ,more tests, they ran

The Doctors and I experimented with allergy medicines and inhalers,
determine what would be best to take,

Many visits to the Doctor I did make.

In early October, I had another CT scan of my chest,

Was learning a new computer Application at work and trying to catch up on
rest.

The new application at the office is web base and not very accessible
for a blind person,

So, there was work to be done,

A technician from Vegas flew to Scottsdale, wrote scripts, keyboard commands
for me,

Since we can't use the mouse you see.

Though, my Screen Reader Jaws is an acronym for Job Access with Speech

Not all information we can easily reach,

Access, like those with sight, have two good eyes,

And we have come a long way since before Jaws and Window-eyes,

And the days of DOS and before we had the Information Highway,

E-mail and e-bay,

We don't have equal access and can't use an application right out of the
box

Nor can we fully use are remote, and the cable guide, provided by Cox,

And TIVo's, anything with a flat panel, can't easily use the display

But anyway,... lol

The technician wrote several scripts so I could access information on the
screen, It was quite challenging I must say,

But today,

I can perform my job as Housekeeping office Coordinator with more ease,
confidence and skill,

I just wish now, I could be well, not ill.

After several visits to our primary Doctor and seeing specialists who
focus on lungs ears, nose and the throat

Made myself a mental note,

If they couldn't help me, I go to Mayo Clinic, Here in the State,

So, I did, and 3 weeks I had to wait.

Mayo Clinic has an excellent Reputation and many folks travel long
distances to their facilities, to seek medical treatment

I went the day before Thanksgiving, almost 7 hours there I spent

First I had some allergy testing,50 things they tested me for, took about
an hour

From Molds,Dust,to pollen, to flower,

For Cat and dog,

All Southwest Trees, plants and for Roaches. the data they did log.

After, I saw an Allergist and the results he gave us

I was negative on just about everything, even things like grass, molds and
dust,

But, was positive on Cockroaches. who wouldn't be ? lol

You or me?

They are disgusting, nasty little creatures, what is their purpose? they're
somewhere on the food chain,

I just want to smash them and flush them down the drain. Lol

Later, I saw a Respiratory Therapist and she tested my breathing , my
Oxygen level and lung capacity

My Scores were in the 90's,my oxygen at 97 %,lungs good, so don't know
what is wrong with me.

The results were inconclusive and no diagnosis given,

Still coughing fiercely, headaches, exhausted this is how I am living.

The cough isn't as frequent, but still quite intense, and I am hoarse, lost
my voice, a lot these days, hard to be understood

Difficult to work and sleep, wish they would,

Diagnose me and soon.

I have a tickle, scratchy feeling in my throat most of the time,

And I have done research on line.

Mayo Clinic said I should go back to my pulmonologist. but think we will go
back to Mayo Clinic instead,Time is of the essence, I say.

I want to feel okay,

Be back to my old self

Again,be in good health

I think the lung specialist should do a bronchoscopy, check my lungs and my
throat, do more than a ct scan, to determine what's wrong,

This has gone on way, too long.

This is difficult for Darrell and I, but we are hanging in there,

Though,we have had enough of our share

For awhile,

Don't smile

As Much, and go into a coughing fit, when others make me laugh

And already have been writing here, for an hour and a half.

,Darrell is very busy with his schoolwork: lots of projects, writing and
reading,

A Vacation, we both are needing.

Dougie recently had his 10 TH Birthday

He is slowing down, has arthritis, but still likes to play.,

Well, some housework I should do,

So, this Kdd is through,

I will try to compose doses more often okay? my friends and family,

Will send you a post on what is happening with Darrell,Dougie and me,

Will send an update

And do hope your Holiday Season is great,

Have a Happy and Safe one,

And for now, this is done.

MountainWings: No Charge Attorney's Advice

Hello All,
I know it has been quite awhile since I had posted anything to my blog. I
have been busy and pretty stressed. Things are improving at work some. I
am learning the new computer Application,"Opera". and each day its getting
easier. Just the other day, they had me run the office mostly by myself. I
can't say right now I am as quick and efficient as I was with the old
system but hopefully in time.
However,my health is not really any better. They have been only able to
treat the symptoms. I still have this chronic cough. Recently, I began
taken this cough suppressant which does work, but again, only treating the
symptoms.
Last week I went to an ENT (Ears,Nose and Throat Doctor) He was unable to
help me either. We did narrow it down though. We now know its lower
respiratory.
Also last week I made an appointment to go to the Mayo Clinic. They have an
excellent reputation and are close. I am sure they can diagnose me.
So, On Wednesday November 25 TH I will be spending the morning at the
clinic having tests done. This is the day before Thanksgiving.
I will keep you all updated. Yet, I wanted to drop a line and let you know
how things are. I know some of you check my blog regularly especially you
Tara. take care and hope you all are well. Look below at the
following Mountain Wings. I know you will find it very informative,I
did. Hope to compose more doses soon and give you a positive update and
how we all are.

NO CHARGE ATTORNEY'S ADVICE
============================

A corporate attorney sent the following out to the employees in
his company.

1. The next time you order checks have only your initials
(instead of first name) and last name put on them. If someone
takes your checkbook, they will not know if you sign your checks
with just your initials or your first name, but your bank will
know how you sign your checks.

2. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put
"PHOTO ID REQUIRED".

3. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card
accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For"
line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card
company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be
handling your check as it passes through all the check
processing channels won't have access to it.

4. Put your work phone number on your checks instead of your
home phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home
address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address.

Never have your SS# printed on your checks. You can add it if it
is necessary. But if you have it printed, anyone can get it.

5. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine.
Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know
what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and
phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopies safe.
I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel either
here or abroad. We've all heard horror stories about fraud
that's committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social
Security number, credit cards.

Unfortunately I, an attorney, have firsthand knowledge because
my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieve(s)
ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for
a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a computer,
received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record
information Online, and more. But here's some critical
information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or
someone you know:

1. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards
immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and
your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those
where you can find them.

2. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where
your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit
providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an
investigation (if there ever is one).

But here's what is perhaps most important of all: (I never even
thought to do this.)

3. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations (Equifax,
Experian, TransUnion) immediately to place a fraud alert on your
name and Social Security number. I had never heard of doing that
until advised by a bank that called to tell, told me an
application for credit was made over the Internet in my name.

The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your
information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to
authorize new credit.

By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the
theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all
the credit checks initiated by the thieves purchases, none of
which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no
additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet
away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have
stopped them dead in their tracks.

Now, here are the numbers you always need to contact about your
wallet, etc., has been stolen:

1.) Social Security Administration (fraud line): 1-800-269-0271

2.) Equifax: P.O. Box 740241, Atlanta, GA 30374 1-800-685-1111

3.) Experian (formerly TRW): P.O. Box 2002, Allen, TX 75013
1-888-397-3742

4.) Trans Union: P.O. Box 1000, Chester, PA 19022 1-800-888-4213

from The Mountain: Whether an attorney actually sent this is
unknown. It's excellent advice in a world full of thievery from
the streets to the suites. You are far more likely to lose your
life savings through suite crime than street crime.

"Thou shalt not steal" is broken as much the other nine.

Be careful, be astute, be proactive.
