Last KDD Today: The Science of Sleep 02.03.07 2;44 pm

While, Watching Groundhog's day,
Today,
We heard, a commercial , that will be seen,
A DVD coming out on Tuesday night, that you can view on your screen
Called " the Science of sleep".

So, here I am, writing about it,in a KDD.
In our sleep,

We reveal the unconscious thoughts we keep,
Hidden in our mind,
And sleep is a way for us to find,
Answers, to our dreams, fears & hopes,
A way for us to cope,
With the problems of the day,
And at night, those issues, play,
Play out,
And resolve our doubts,
About our personal lives And events in the News,
While we snooze. (:

While we sleep, we fall into an altered state
&in the morning, wake up hopefully feeling great.
There are 4 stages of sleep, that have been scientifically noted,
If we all sleep well, after going to bed
Stage one,is light,

if we, are not upset or worried we will sleep well, during the night,
And quickly move onto stage Two, where you see Images & visions not
really
seen with your eyes,
this is a blessing in disguise.

after this, you'd move on to stage three,
Where, deep sleep, is where, you should be.
Here, your muscles are more relaxed and your heart rate has slowed down,
& you can't hear a thing, outside, people in town,
Your blood pressure is now falling,
if, someone, was calling ,
You would not hear them,
Because, your on your way to Rem.

the last stage is number 4 called REM, Rapid, Eye Movement,
And for us adults, spent 3 to 5 periods of REM, & this is where we dream,
Where, the resolutions take,
Solution we make. (:
If, you hear a sudden loud noise or you are shaken,
You do waken,
Do wake,
Your BP, heart rate, and Brain do speed up here, during this stage,
Don't fear, its not your age,
This is normal, & during the night, we have REM 90 %of the time,
&, this is the process of sleep,if your well & doing fine. (:
