Transit, Barbecues and ACB

It has been over a month since I have written, as well as I do lack the
ability to compose KDD's at this time and generate a post that is
informative and creative. Perhaps, next time? :)
I am sure some of you would like an update as to how we are? We are doing
fine and trying to stay cool in this desert Sun as much as possible.
Spending time at the pool and having A/C is the only way here in Arizona.
Joyce is adapting to her new home and my workplace. We are becoming more
familiar with the neighborhood and I am working Joyce at the Transit Center
on my way to appointments. She also tolerates her booties and most of the
time guides well, though at times corrections are needed or she gets
distracted, wanting to say hello to strangers. Once,I get her refocused she
is fine.
She is shedding allot and early next month she was shaved,so she wouldn't
be as hot in this heat. Her fur is starting to grow back already.
She loves playing tug but mostly loves chewing on her bones and shoving them
in your direction, demanding to play lol.
She is becoming more attached like Dougie but, does show more independence
than he:) lol. I plan on contacting Dougie's Family today and will give
you an update on him,in the next post.
Darrell is keeping busy with school and technology advocacy issues.
A few weeks ago,we had our Friend Alice over for a barbecue/pool party. It
was lots of fun. I made Mom's delicious potato salad and corn on the cob.
Darrell marinated Chicken and Alice brought baked beans and homemade
chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. we had a wonderful time, even
tried the hot tub. It felt great, but after a few minutes ,its too much.
WE have been spending time with our neighbor/friend Marie and her husband
Ed. They are very nice people.
Darrell went to his friend Alison's for a 4 TH of July Party. I
unfortunately had to work,we were extremely busy over the holiday weekend.
They had all kinds of Activities at the pool and other areas at the
Resort. They had speed slide racing, water basketball, water
volleyball,Bingo,a Dive-in Movie,Barbecue,Fireworks and so much more. A
great time was had by all.

Next week is the National ACB Convention (American Council of the Blind)
It is herein Phoenix this year. Darrell and I will be attending. I will be
there the first half while Darrell all week.
Our close friends Jeff and Keri will be staying with us and attending the
convention as well. They will only be here till Tuesday.
They will have numerous of meetings, presentations on blindness related
things as well as there is an exhibit hall where we can explore and look
at all kinds of cool aids & appliances and high tech gear. That,is the best
part of the convention along with hanging out with friends. I will meet
friends I only have known online for the first time. It will be wonderful.
well, its already mid morning here and I have housework to do. I will do my
best to update more often so you all can get a glimpse,a snapshot of what is
happening here for Darrell and I.
Take care,stay well,till next time.
