Share Our Strength

There should be no child in this great Nation of ours going Hungry.! We
have 95 % of the World's Wealth and though, I understand why we assist
other Countries in this cause, and others we should take care of our own
before coming to the aid of the Third World. Then, Let's assist Countries
like Ethiopia,Afghanistan and Iraq. Hunger and poverty have always been
social problems for the U.S,despite Us being one of the 5 Super Powers.
I have always done what I could to help others and get involved in Fund
raisers when I can. . Back in the 80's I helped raise money for both MDA
and the AHA by dancing the night away. The MDA Dance-a-thon was 24 hours
and I was exhausted,yet it was so much fun.! I really got down and boogied
lol.
In addition to those, Darrell and I have donated to the Red Cross after
9-11 and now Today we donated $10 to feed a few starving Children. ( We
were not happy with how our Dollars were spent after and I think so were
many people) We were going to participate in the "Share the Strength
Dine Out" and dine this evening at the Lone Star Steakhouse in Mesa.
However, it is not very practical. The food sounds delicious but it is,
expensive. Due to our Economic situation ,we really should not. Speaking of
Economics, Hope you all watched the Debate? Will write more about all that
later. We were mostly going to help the kids. Perhaps, we can have Dinner
there,another time.

Today,just going to relax and later, we will be participating in the VR
Stream Virtual Party on ACB Radio. Dougie and I both attempted to write a
dose for you all last night ,yet neither one of us is feeling creative at
the moment
Perhaps the creative juices will flow later today?,sometime this weekend I

Today's KDD: Pet Friendly program,Dine Out Fund Raiser and " Strangers"

Its Thursday September 25 at 6; 30 at night,

Here I am again, to write,

Another KDd,

And tell you what is going on with Darrell and me,

Hope you're all doing fine?

And I am sure you all know that McCain is suspending his Campaign at this
time?,

Due to the Financial Crises, our Country is in; the debate may be cancelled
too

And my work week is almost through,

Much work I have had to do

Yet, most of it mundane, nothing exciting to report,

Let's hope Renovation will be, completed soon at the resort

However, I do know the construction crew are behind

And I don't have much on my mind,

To disclose,

Yet, a dose for you all I wanted to compose.

Darrell had an exam today He thinks he did well

And we will have a new program at the Hotel

A Pet Friendly one

Not a ton,

Of rooms, about 6 to 8,

For Guests with their Pets. I give that a high rate

They will have bowls and even a Pet menu,

With Pet treats, toys and beds too

They will have a sign on the door that says Let sleep, the beast within",

And it doesn't matter, if the dog or cat is small, large, fat or thin,

Or what breed, they will take them all

I am sure; they will have bones, tug toys, congs and balls

Doesn't matter what kind of hound, can be like Dougie and sit on your lap

And as said, they will have beds, so they can take a nap,

In fact, I am testing trying one for Dougie, at the office in Housekeeping,

Dougie the last two days has been seen,

Sleeping in it, one of the managers a digital Picture he took,

And I finished the book,

I was reading,

And I heard in the Election, Obama is leading,

And I will write more about the novel I red

And in a couple hours, it will be time for bed.

Anyway, I am attempting to stay on track, so confused, none of you get

I was telling you the stuff we will have for our Guests Pets,

Sorry, I change topics in midstream

And soon, I will lose steam

It has been along day you see,

And as said, beds in the rooms their will be

And Dougie is testing it for Public Relations and approve he does,

It is a large pillow, very soft and I am sure, quickly it will collect his
fuzz,

His golden, strawberry blonde hair,

Just hope, it he doesn't tare?,

And rips it to shreds? Like his beds in the past?

For him and other dogs we would like them to last. Lol

There is a lady, whom makes these,

And she doesn't charge a huge fee,

A portion of the money goes to a dog Rescue,

The Humane Society is selling her beds and that we will also do.

Raising funds for Starving Children is what this one is about,

Selected restaurants will donate $1 toward specific entrees you order,
others it can feed

These Children, your help they need

I think Darrell and I will do this Saturday night,

At Lone star Steakhouse in Mesa, we will grab a bite,

They are one of the Restaurants that is participating in this, think its
great

Not much time, ends Sunday September Twenty-eight.

Darrell is reading "Strangers", as this I do create,

And Tomorrow night, will they have the Debate?

Alright, here is the premise of this Novel I finished the other night, its
30 hours, I stayed up late,

Because this one is great.

It is about half a dozen Strangers, from the West Coast and the East

There is a Writer, Medical Resident, and a Priest,

A Husband and Wife who manage The Tranquility hotel

A Cocktail Waitress and a professional Thief as well

The Writer lives in Laguna Beach and the Priest in Chicago,

The Doctor in Boston, and she is quite skilled, is a pro,

The Waitress and her daughter live in Nevada and so does the Husband and
wife,

Who manage the Hotel, and the Thief is very familiar with Weapons, guns and
a knife

He is from New York and has Military experience, so does the Hotel
Manager

And the Event that did occur,

That does connect them all, happened two summers ago

Yet, not till close to the end, this they know.

Somehow they are all linked together at this place and time,

And in an hour it will be nine.

, most of these Main Characters are having nightmaires, insomnia, Fuegs,
loss of memories

One character , a hypnotist, they do see

They have no idea as to why, have no clue,

Later, they find the explanation, they do!

A few are receiving notes and pictures in their snail mail and Electronic,

Some need tranquilizers and alcohol stronger then tonic

To cope with these issues that is affecting her and him

Life for them all looks, dreary and grim

They begin to think, they are a hopeless case

And this novel, is definitely not a waste

It is one that I would recommend

And I will not tell you more, want you, to read to the end

My friend, it ,you would enjoy, if you like Dean Koontz and Mysteries, ,
thrillers, action and adventure, then, you too, will say its great, one of
the best

And I should go soon, get ready for bed, get my rest,

Tomorrow work I do go,

Occupancy is low,

Yet, I will be busy, with guests Requests and projects and such,

And another time I will write, and you all keep in touch,

Today's KDD: Darrell's Classes finding inspiration and the first day of Fall,

It's shortly after 11 on September Twenty-two,

Not much new,

How about you?

Today Darrell was suppose to have his Surgery,

Now, we are not exactly sure when it will be?

We don't know the next Surgery date,

And I was going to wait

To compose another KDD, because I am enjoying the novel I am reading

Yet, perhaps, a dose you are needing?

Once upon a time, I wrote every day or whenever I had a chance,

However, that is not possible anymore, under the circumstance,

Due to my work environment,

So, this has much to do with, why less are sent,

As well as Have-not had any creativeness

Thus, thought it would be best

If I only wrote when my artistic style was stimulated and worthy of note?,

Maybe, it shouldn't matter, when I wrote?

Write? Shouldn't matter if it is not appealing?

For you the reader, necessarily?? for me, writing is healing,

For me,

And that was one of the reasons I had began the Kdd

Over two years ago,

Just wish every day, the creative juices would flow,

And time would permit,

To allow me to sit,

Here, after work and write about the Happening's of my day

However, I don't always have things to say

Or are not able to disclose certain things on this site

And other times, just tired at night

Don't have vigor

Not always like tigger

Don't have spring in my step, or inspiration,

And Darrell may wait to have his surgery over Christmas vacation.

All A's, he does receive,

and this journalism Degree he will achieve

This long term goal, he will obtain,,

He is determined and has the brain,

His classes are going pretty well, and he is adapting again to the College
Scene,

Not exactly what he remembers when he was a teen?

And of course, he does have to intervene

Between the professor and the disability office and get what he needs to
succeed,

And after this, more of the Novel," Stranger's" I will read

He feels with most of the students, he can't relate

That they are superficial, could he have a good debate?

Says, most seem like they really don't want to learn,

Those only good grades they want to earn,

Not just knowledge gained, that most, just do the minimum to get by,

And thus, finding it difficult to identify,

With most of his classmates there,

And wonder, if this, I should even share?

This entry at all?

And it's the first day of fall,

As you may know, it's my favorite season, some say, it symbolizes death and
dying? Do you?

And that spring is for a time of renewal,

And for rebirth,

However, in the autumn, one can smell the earth,

And feel the cool, crisp, air

Love the feeling of the wind blowing in my hair,

And on my face, skin so faire

The taste of chicken noodle soup and apple cider

Those things sometimes give me oomph and inspire me as a writer,

If you can say I am one?

I am not sure; just know, I find it relaxing,rewarding and fun,

And soon, this will be done

As said, the book, I want to resume

And also have to clean the kitchen and living room.

Dean Koontz novels, do captivate,

Most of his I read, I think they are great,

I do want to read others, Like Jo Hanson Sawyer and Turrow,

When, I do, I will let you know,

It is now, 12; 30,

And Darrell is doing laundry, had many clothes that were dirty

I have things to do, so, should get on my way,

Today's KDD: DINKS and SINKS lol

It's the same day almost 12 hours later though

And this morning, we were adjusted by our Chiropractor, she is a pro,

She knows her stuff, The Skelton structure, muscles and bones, how it all
works together

And nicer is the weather,

Its about 92 here

Autumn is near,

Just around the corner just a few days away

We are having a very good day.

,First are hair cuts we did get, no more wings and split ends

Then, we saw Andréa our Chiropractor and friend

Both of us are feeling pretty good, no pain, have none

And this morning the novel, I begun,

Began,"Strangers", in between the appointments we ran,

While sitting waiting to be seen , not far into the plot, into the
storyline,

And hope your all well?, doing fine?,

We were catching up with Andréa, finding out what is new,

And her, with us too,

WE were telling her, how we are Dinks, not ding bats or a ninny

And I do like most things,minature and Minnie

Many small things, I do love,

And the Sociological Term, I think, most of you have heard of?

DINKS, Dual Income, No Kids. that is Darrell and me, for the most part, we
think, that is very cool,

However, now, that he is in school

We are SINKS, Single and still no kids, yet, that is okay,

That is one of the things, we discussed today,

Andreya,Darrell and me,

And Darrell had even joked, how, he could see, this topic, would become a
Kdd? Lol

So, this, I just had to do. you know?, is it good material?, who
knows?

I never know what I will compose,

On any given day, so, we all have to wait,

That, is what makes life so great,

We never know, exactly how the day will go, only so much we can plan, yet,
the rest is unknown

And my Blog, it seems, it has taken on a life of its own?, lol,

Our destiny isnot set in stone

And we have some control, in the choices we make,

Yet, never knowing, exactly what road, we will take

WE all have to make the best use of the cards we are dealt,

Make decisions, take actions, and emotions are felt,

Participate, keep living,

Get involved, and be giving

And Learn from each other here on planet Earth,

Recognize, we all have self worth,

And there is a purpose for it all,

And I am so much looking forward to fall,

I always am, This Season, it's the best,

And this afternoon, going to relax, rest,

Since, I will have to work for the next 4 days, till Sunday, September
twenty-one,

Today's KDD: Darrell's Upcoming Surgery and the Novel " Strangers"

The Clock just struck midnight, now September 17 Th,we haven't gone to bed
but will,

In the morning going to get our Hair cut over on Mill

And then to our Chiropractor Andréa, Our bodies she will adjust

And tomorrow afternoon, I will remove the rust

From our bedroom bathroom, our Toilet, there was a leak

And I work for the rest of the week,

Will be doing overtime,

And Darrell is downloading a book onto the bookport of mine

So, a new Dean Koontz novel I can read Called "Strangers", looks great

And September 22, is Darrell's Surgery Date,

Not exactly sure what they will do?

Or at what time, the Surgeons will be through?,

We are told, it will be about 2 or so,

So, 2 hours prior we will go

Leave here, Spectra Eye Center is in Sun City, about 40 miles away,

The length of the operation, will depend, see what they will say

Will see, when, they have him in the O.R

Of course, it will depend on how things are

The condition of his right eye

And the time, will not fly,

As I sit in the waiting room by myself,Dougie and me

Its not like, I can compose a Kdd,

But, I will likely read a book, or listen to music, so the time will pass

And the artificial Cornea was invented by a Doctor in Mass.

Hope the procedure, long it will not be?

Typically, a couple hours?, if all goes well?, right?,

And I am certainly up late tonight?

And last night, I attempted to write

But, I had writers block, A KDd did not materialize,

And in 7 hours we will rise,

And an hour later, we will be up and gone

At least, I don't have to get up before dawn,

Today. That is good for Darrell and me,

And hopefully, not long Darrell's Recovery will be?

They want to remove the silicone oil, and give him a combo of a donor and
artificial Cornea transplant,

If there are complications, such as Retinal Tares they can't

And will leave the silicone in there,

And I am hoping to take most of next week off, to be home for some of his
after care,

And some classes he will miss, yet, only a few not many of,

And I will make stuff, that he does love

Home cooked meals, or give him, hot soup or tea,

Or go run to the pharmacy

Or anything else, just be around to give him TLC

Hope I will be able,

We will not be watching much cable,

Its now almost 1,

And this, it should be done

I should get to bed hit the sack,

But, I will be back,

Another time another day

Last KDD for Today: Update on Ike and the Train Wreck

It's the same day, same place,

And do you think this morning's KDd shouldn't have been written? The
subject was of poor taste?,

Its now,4:03,

And once Again, you are hearing from me,

Perhaps, I should not have composed a dose about the "Poop Deck"??

And now, I have more information about Ike and the Train Wreck

And I am happy to say, I have no pain in my neck.

I heard there were 2 deaths and 25 million without power, will take
weeks to restore,

I figured, there would be more,

Yet, I am relieved, there are not more victims, of this Hurricane,

And now Ike,is a Tropical Storm, there will be much rain,

And some did not evacuate

Much devastation, in the Texas state,

Galveston underwater and Houston, buildings burned to the ground,

The JB Morgan Chase Building, was found

In shambles. Window pains, blinds, furniture, trash on the street,

The Media hearing commentary from Residence, that they did meet,

I guess, early morning, Furniture went flying through the air and hit a
parking garage, they just stood and stare,

As it flew across the street and glass shattered everywhere

Being careful not to be hit by debris,

Outside, you wouldn't see me!.

I would have been one of the many who left my home,

I wouldn't be in the midst of it all or roam

Walking around town, action I would have taken,

And now, Firefighters, rescues they are making

And who knows, if the manager and the customers of the "Poop Deck" did
survive?

And as I said, I wouldn't name my business that? It must be a dive?

Does remain the deck?

And now, I will tell you about the train wreck.

I heard, there were 200 some on the commuter train in L A,

Yesterday,

it was Metro link,

And the Engineer of the other Train, did not drink,

But fell asleep, ran a red light, while, the passengers, were enjoying the
ride,

Both trains, on the same track, and suddenly did collide

The total deaths are 24 and many critically injured. more deaths, there
later could be,

And I heard Paramedics, limbs underneath, they did see

Yet, were respectful of the dying, treated all with care

And dignity

This is very bad,

Makes me feel sad,

? The media has nothing else to report to us all?

Except about Ike, the train accident and tremendous rainfall?

There has to be more? I would think? That, we could debate?

Yet, it wouldn't have the same rate,

And this coming week, isHousekeepping appreciation , at work, I don't feel
much of it,

From where I sit

From my point of view

From what I hear fun things other departments will do,

For all of us in Housekeeping, I shall see,

Who knows, maybe, a good week, it will be

I know, I will be working 50 hours, starting tomorrow; it will be a long
one,

Today's KDD: "Poop Deck"

Today is Saturday September 13, at 10;04,

I had not planned writing today, but I just had to say more,

Later last night, I watched more of the News, about Ike, This one is large
in size

And I couldn't believe my ears, not my eyes,

On what I heard, Some in Galveston Texas were still there,

But, that is not what blew my mind, its what they, next did share,

There were some, hanging out at a Restaurant called "Poop Deck

Have not heard anymore about the train Wreck,

have you?

Can you believe, naming a business that?. That I wouldn't do"

I am not feeding you a bunch of bull, this isn't crap

I am not tossing manure on your lap,

Or wouldn't on your plate,

Can't you just wait,

To go there?, to grab a bite? Lol

I certainly would lose my appetite

And would not want to tell folks, I am a manager at the "Poop Deck",

And I wonder, too customers, quickly ask for their check?

Before they are served their entrée and they don't make it to dessert?,

I would think, it would taste worse then dirt,

Wouldn't you think?

I know they have a bar there too, Maybe, they have much to drink?

Maybe, they get Wasted? And drunk as a skunk?

So, they don't know the food really stunk

And maybe, they don't have taste buds?

Many there said, they would ride the storm, that they can't believe the
floods,

That they would just Paddle, hopefully make it,

And wonder, if their menu items, are really a hit?

Or one should just pass?

Or if they have irregularity?, Indigestion? And Gas?

Not sure what is the scoop?, This piece can you digest? will you devour?

Or do you have a sudden urge, to take a shower?

Lather up and scrub? Or do you want another cup?

I will continue to shovel it up?

Give you another bowl, a huge platter,

And then, you can go to your doctor, and he can say, What is the matter?
Lol

Nah, I am sure, the food there, tastes just fine,

That customers, go there to dine,

But, really,Enough of this crap okay?

Today's KDD: Hurricaine Isaac and News Ratings

Today is the 12 TH of September at8;03,

It was actually a very good day for me

At work. I can't at all complain,

And not sure when next we will get rain,

Tonight I heard about an Accident, involving two trains,

On the West Coast, A commuter and A freight,

And hope your day was great?

That it was a good one?

And Soon, Isaac will hit, won't know the damage, until its done

Until its completed the Cycle, before it heads out to sea,

, right now, many did flea

This one has such power,

Heard right now, winds at 60 Miles an hour,

And has already flooded 300 miles of the Coast. not sure how much rain
fell?

Just heard, there is water in the lobby of the Holiday Inn Hotel,

And the Reporter's Satellite equipment is shaking,

They have mentioned glass breaking,

Not yet any debris flying, not sure now, how strong the wind is blowing?

And all Evening, This Hurricane, they have been showing

Geraldo Rivera is there,

Can't these Reporter's just share?

Information, the news? Without being melodramatic? They find it exciting,

When, live at the "Scene", when their citing

An Event, such as this,

Not a single minute they don't want to miss,

When, there is flooding, Plane crashes, shootings, they become Animated and
seemed thrilled

The more damage there is and more killed

They Seem glad, Its like they want a catastrophic situation, they are
waiting

To increase the ratings

So, their story will make the Headlines,, and Recognition they will get

And us, viewers would be glued to our sets?

I began to tell you about work, I had a pleasant day,

And my co-workers could hear what I say

On the phone through my headset which is a very good thing,

And I wish something upbeat I could bring

Rather then, these Stories about Hurricane Isaac Pounding Texas and 10
killed on the train

Sometimes, the News, I do refrain

I would rather, watch Comedies or a good book,

Then, hear about an Earth Quake, that shook

In California, or a murder in our City,

I much rather read something witty

And it, tickle my funny bone,

Or find out how my family and Friends are on the phone

Or write to you all,

And I am tuning out Geraldo again, mentioning the sea wall, lol

Drowning him out, turning my ear the other way,

And we chatted with our Brother-in-law today.

Bob, in Boston, seems all are doing fine

About 30 minutes we were on the line,

Bobby is now a Sophomore, and on Crew, the Rowing Team,

And Joanna, 13,

tried out for Field Hockey, she is Athletic and I think has a high
self-esteem,

Their Younger Sis Katie is in the 5 Th grade, doing just fine,

And after School, she spends time

With her little Cousins Cole and Liam, 5 & 2,

Hanging out, is what they do

They live next Door, I am sure, they have fun,

And its now 9;30, I should run,

Rap this up, , this should come to a close,

And Maybe, tomorrow, a KDd I will Compose?

I am off, Work I don't have to Go

I am not, going to see, how fast the wind does blow

Will listen to Delilah and watch Home Improvement instead,

And spend time with Darrell before its time for bed,

Today's KDD: Where were you When The Towers Fell?

Its almost 4; 30 on the 11 th of September

As I told you, I do remember,

That September day, 7 years ago,

And Darrell's Watching Voyager one of his favorite shows.

Today, many pay tribute, to all the hero's and lives lost that day, on those
planes and the Towers

And last night, we had rain showers

I know, 343 firefighters lost their lives from what they did say,

Over 3,000 died that tragic day

It makes me sad, how appalling,

What a disaster, the blaze all the rubble, people falling,

Some calling,

Their wives, children, loved ones, saying their goodbyes one last time

Later that day, others standing in line

Giving their blood and donating for a good Cause,

As all of us, paused

Assessing what matters most,

And we were all united from Coast to Coast

From New York to L A and everywhere in between,

And some, will never forget, what, was seen,

At Ground Zero and on their Television sets,

And I am sure, some, had regrets?,

Not spending as much time with those they care for?

Promising to be there more,

For Family, Friends, and their Community,

And realizing, life, the same it would never be.

Most, for a short while, were more friendly, to strangers, more thoughtful
and a hand they did lend

Then, months later helping only their family and friends

Not as often assisting a child in Danger

Or speaking to a stranger

On the street all too often, we are in our own little world, not paying much
attention, to others and things in the universe,

And in some circumstances, we think we have it worse,

Compared to our Neighbor? wanting to relinquish?

Praying? hoping we would get our wish?

Some, have changed, that, I do believe,

And I m sure, many still do grieve,

And that this is a difficult day for some, they ask why,

Trying to stay strong, yet, they cry

Many somehow find strength to carry on,

Despite, their loved ones now gone,

They take responsibility; go to work so they can put food on the table

Though, some days, they are not able,

They make sure their children are kept safe, dry and warm,

Despite, their Mom and Dads, not around after they were born.

Some, told their story, wrote a book

And today, again, here we look,

Listen and revisit, these Events in the News

I recall, being asleep when the first plane hit the Tower,

Then, at 5; 45, the alarm went off, it was time for me to get up, take a
shower

Get ready for work and on my way

Darrell and I, certainly, remember, the beginning of that day

On Beth and Bill they read the news, sent over the wire,

Described the scene, at the Trade Center, the planes crashing, the black
smoke, the fire,

It suddenly made us sit up straight in the bed,

In shock of what they had just said

When, normally we continue to sleep again pressing the button to snooze

This time however, we wanted to see the news,

Since I had to work, Darrell was home, giving me a report ,

While he did telecommute, and I at the Resort

He, in between doing work tasks would watch CNN and Fox Cable,

When, he was able.

Yesterday, I describe what that day was like at work, at the hotel for
us employees and our Guests

So, you know, the rest

However, I'd like to know Where you were When, the Towers Fell, What your
Thoughts are about that day?

Today, I had an adjustment my body is now aligned

And Have I expressed too much of what is on my mind?

My body was way out of whack,

And work Tomorrow, I do go back,

My headset they are going to replace for me,

And out of place was my back,arm,hips,ribs and knee,

As well as my neck, on both sides, hurting was the base of my neck and my
spine,

, but now, I am fine,

and Darrell and Dougie too,

and for now, This KDd is through.

disposal did break,

So, time he did take,

Yesterday, clearing it underneath, so Maintenance it, they could repair,

And some of the e-mail lists, Darrell and others today did discuss

Screen readers, Accessibility and for employment, which is the best?,

And food, that we don't digest

Can now, be tossed down the drain

There is no longer an odor or a leak

Today's KDD: Where,were you on that September Day? and Darrell and our day off Together

Its 11; 15 on Wednesday September ten

I am sure everyone does Remember When,

The Terrorists did Attack Here in the U S of A?

Seven years ago tomorrow will be the day,

I know, I can't forget,

And I am sure many of you watched the News on TV? Or red about it on the
Net?

I am sure many of you have heard that Alan Jackson Song, Where were you
that September Day?

I thought about all those I care about, that tragic day,

When, that song does play.

Many, including me, did not have as much work for awhile, those of us in
the Tourist Industry it did concern,

Not as much money, I did earn,

At work, occupancy was very low

Business was quite slow,

Only 6 % occupancy in our Resort

Some guests, had relatives, lives cut short,

And were on the plane from Boston, Flight 111,

And though, their loved ones are now in Heaven,

I am sure they miss them so,

And many Guests, nowhere, they could go,

No one could arrive or depart,

Some left with a broken heart,

And that Alan Jackson's Song was Top on the Charts,

Along with "Will you remember" by Sarah Mclachlan and the one by Lone Star,
that now escapes my Brain

And I think today or tomorrow, we will get rain?

Darrell and I are not quite awake, not on the ball

And on 9-11, not many in the halls

Roaming, exploring the Resort, most stayed in their rooms, that is what
they did choose

To do, wanted to watch the news

Reflect and ponder,

Wondered, what was yonder?

What their future held,

For us all, as their eyes swelled

And unable to express their sorrow

Praying, hoping, there would be something to look forward to tomorrow?

And the next,

Many sending their love and seeing if all are safe by sending text,

Messages and making phone calls, many unable

I recall, hearing, "All Circuits busy", so, we continued to watch the cable,

And it was difficult to work, our thoughts with our Friends and Families,

Here in our Nation and over Seas

Especially inN Y C,

How can this be?

"Have you forgotten"? hope that is not the case

Some are just not able to accept others of another race, or Religion or
understand their heritage,

Why, can't folks, just live?

And tolerate one's culture? Belief's? And Attitudes?

Did things, have to reach that magnitude

Be so violent? Such Brutality?

You say, not that simple? It is for me

I am a peacemaker, Darrell says, I would be a good Diplomat?

On that September day, where were you at?

Some say, I am a passivist, I don't think so, not as much as in my younger
days

My consciousness was raised,

Of Foreign affairs and how some are so cruel and unkind

These things are always in the back of my mind

Though, I understand War on an Intellectual level I don't emotionally

Peace I know, there will never be,

There will never be complete harmony

In this World. Some love to be aggressive, have power and Take command,

Be in control, no matter on what land

On who's Soil?

Very glad, the CIA, has foiled

Many plans for future attacks, what a relief, that they have come to our
Aid,

A difference it has made.

Wish they could negotiate?

Wouldn't that be great?

Will never be possible, yet, one can hope, dream, okay?

Darrell and I are both home today

Here, we are chilling out, occupying our time,

Both of us doing our own thing on the net, hope you all are fine?

Today's KDd: MeritScores,Broken Headset and ITunes

Today is 6; 30 on September Nine,

Darrell and I are doing fine,

Our Schedules have been demanding these days,

Don't particularly like my job, but it pays

It does put food on the table and a roof over our head

And Things are going better at work, from what my Boss had said

They are actually more then satisfied with my performance for a change, from
what the managers told me the other day,

And at this time, not too many Guests do stay.

I am putting a great deal of effort into it, they can see that, and that I
am skilled

Though, I am often running the daily operation, not very fulfilled

And these days, the position is challenging, but not impossible for me

Housekeeping Office Coordinator I don't always want to be

Certainly not forever, lol

I definitely have other endeavors

However, think I will be here for awhile definitely for the near future, I
suppose?

And did not think, tonight a KDd I would compose

For now, this job, I can tolerate

Hope your all well? Doing great?

This past year things have been very tough, quite intense,

Has not made much sense

Yet, I am resilient and have grit

Conscientious and don't quit,

And is this Blog still a hit?,

Is it enjoyable? And entertaining?

And lately, it hasn't been raining

Still hot and muggy

And feeling frisky is Dougie. Lol

It is cooler, soon, it will be brisk, invigorating, and summer has gone
fast

And this year, not much longer it will last,

Not sure where the time went?

And we received the highest merit Scores in the Department,

Above every other Area in the Hotel,

We received a mark of 86, we did pretty well,

Told most, got only 50 to 60 percent, surprised at the outcome,

Of the scores, knew would exceed some,

Yet, not all, did not think, that, we would do

Beat Front Desk, Concierge, everyone in Rooms and F & B too

Reservations, PBX, Restaurants,Alto ,SWB and recreation

Know we are above in the Region, but uncertain compared to the nation?

Delighted, our Boss says, it is outstanding

Construction Workers were Jack hammering in the Lower Lobby today, not
sanding,

She congratulated each of us and says Housekeeping you all Rock!

And Engineers lately, have had clogged Toilets, showers that leak, and tubs
to caulk,

And I am sure, the Geese, they will flock?

All birds do migrate,

And so do, the "snow Birds" here, who visit our state

In the winter, when it is snowing on the East Coast, where I was born,

And our Friend Keri, Bought me a silky green summer dress, much it will be
worn

Love it, was sent in the mail, what a pleasant surprise,

And Tomorrow is our weekend, early, we don't have to rise

I am not an "early Bird", more like an Night Owl", awake, then, much more
Aware

And both Darrell and I, should get our Hair,

Cut, it is long and we both have wings, lol

And who knows what 2009 brings?

For Darrell and I and you?

And soon, this will be through

I will have herbal tea and watch Home Improvement, go to bed

We are considering canceling our cable rather then paying the additional
bill

On the net,We can receive our news still

And write, research, have fun, for more then an hour

Think, I will relax, by taking a shower

My neck is stiff, and sore,

My split headset at work is not working anymore,

Hope that issue will be resolved by Friday, upon my return?

And when I had sight, liked to see the leaves turn

Most very vivid and bright,

Some earthy, and dark, others light

Enjoyed the sound

Not sure what the hound

Is doing? But Darrell is playing with I-tunes; it is accessible from what he
said

And not sure when I will go to bed?

My body says soon, yet, I will likely stay up later? maybe midnight?

Darrell says, iTunes is accessible but not very good, actually, said, it
is kind of crappy,

I am sure, that doesn't make him and others very happy

I have no clue, haven't even looked at it,alright

Perhaps, another day I will explore that? and again, I will write.

Today's KDD: Changes at work,Hurricane Gustav and Mccain

Its 3 pm on Saturday September 6

On our XM Radio in our Living Room,

This is my Condensed weekend, Tomorrow work I resume.

My first week back and changes they made

And not much my stress did fade

Did diminish,

And when this is finish,

It will probably be time to prepare dinner?

And I know there will be many Winners,

In the Paralympic games that began today,

And I better stay on topic; I remember what Darrell did say,

How it is sometimes difficult to comprehend,

The KDD's I send,

Because, I change subjects so fast, without warning,

And I woke up with an allergy headache this morning.

See, I just did it here, lol,

Yet, you may not realize, that it is not easy, wanting to share,

And providing it in this format in poetic form,

And hope all in the Gulf Coast did weather the storm?

Writing in Rhyme, is a challenging thing to do

Yes, work I did return, and as said changes they did make

All 490 rooms have new numbers, time it will take,

Exceed standards, so, technology, they need to get that is new

To keep up with our competitors in the Industry,

Next spring time it will be

For our Resort to update to a new platform, to replace our existing one

This new computer application and new PC's will run,

Much faster and we will update with the times, in the Twenty-first century

Stressful, these technical changes will be.

This particular application is java based

Don't know exactly, what I will face?,

In the days ahead? I am still in the Research phases

And hopeful with some new technology, it will increase my wages?

And my status and position as an blind employee?

We shall see.

Besides that,Okay,was my week,

Gender, does not matter to me,

Just as long as they are qualified, and the issues they will address

Makes no difference, if they wear a Suit or a dress

If there voice is a higher pitch

Or if he or she is poor, middle class or Rich

What their race or ethnicity is, in this case Black or White,

What matters, are what they say they will do Once President, the other
night

Of course, we all are concerned about the State of the Economy, the Iraq
War, and Education,

Yet, other things effect our nation,

Like health Care, Services for those of us who are disabled Americans,

In 2 months, we will see who wins.

A person's Values, morals and ethics say so much more, about people, in
this case, each Candidate,

Its nice to know, if Vice-President, Sarah Palin will be an advocate,

For those of us whom have a disability

Like Darrell and me,

I was also thinking about the folks in New Orleans, during the
Hurricane,

Gustav and Hannah,I don't know, what does remain?

Have not listened to the news much, the last couple days I need to get up
to speed

I did not read,

Or watch on Television, had a major headache after work each night and
sleep I did need to get

Usually, I read my news on the net.

I did hear in those communities most did evacuate,

Before, it was too late,

And the storm ,did hit, mostly flooding,7 deaths, hope there were not more
then that?

That is not a place I would want to be living at,

In, and I would definitely leave

I know too, much more Assistance they did receive,

Unlike,Catrina,in 2005,A very good thing, you know?,

And soon, I should go

An hour has passed

And Darrell enjoys his class,

All 3 he is taking

And soon, I will be cooking a meatloaf,not baking

Will make meatloaf and baked potatoes tonight,

Later in the week, I will try and write,

However, it will be a crazy week at the office for me

Wednesday and Thursday, off I will be
